This is a wonderful thing. I'm glad to have helped in my tiny way. Not everyone will agree with the name change. It will probably lose a lot of frequenters. To most of them, frankly, good riddance. We don't need people so sexist that a name change away from problematic material upsets them. The goal is to anti-sexist and this is one of many ways to do it. Also, GS had lost me as a user for years and now it's gained me. I'm sure there are many others too.

I'm working to allow my business, run by me, to have some moral opinions. I don't think business should stay silent on matters that affect them just because they're "political". It may hurt my bottom line, but I'd rather that get hurt than people.

I don't use this account much because my work dried up during covid and I'm bad at social media, but I think it would be inappropriate and hypocritical of me not to make a statement about yesterday's terrorist coup attempt. I think the words I used to describe it say enough that you know where Idyll Sounds stands on the matter, because words are important.

Idyll Sounds is not a political entity, but it is run and operated in the US and pays taxes to the government here, so it nonetheless has clear, material stake in the operation of that government. I will not take on any work that is in any way apologist towards these people, their leader, or their ideals.

Another episode down and no qc fails, despite a particularly difficult section that refuses to stay under true peak spec. Predictably, the fix was in the low end, which was eating up all my headroom in that moment.
