Thank you everybody for the birthday wishes this past week! I took a solo trip to the Virgin Islands for my dirty 30 to meet up with some new friends and spent the week diving shark infested ship wrecks and spearfishing lion fish. It was nice to get away from the phone and cameras(for the most part) for a bit and just unwind.

Heres to starting my 30s off right and leaving the chaotic 20s in the dust

I truly believe there's something to be said for never being completely satisfied, it pushes you learn and try new things and keeps you hungry for more. It keeps you consistent.

Final Grade video sound design.

It's tough to choose what I like more, sound design or color grading. Both are fun in that they require a lot of creativity and thought. But sound is fun because you have to imagine yourself in each clip and think, what would I possibly be hearing if I were there? Birds? Wind? Some dumb ass dog in the distance barking like crazy? Then put all those pieces together with atmospheric undertones, hits and whooshes. Believe it or not sound clips like that are what makes the video come together and not just be some lame ass series of clips.

Heres a look at the recent Final Grade Construction And Conservation LLC video WITHOUT the music. Keep in mind there is no mic on the drones.

Just wrapped up editing on what has to be my favorite project to date. Leah Johnson at The Event Firm coordinates some of the most insane parties in Omaha. Unfortunately due to them being private we cannot share the videos, until now. The soon to be shared short documentary shows the extensive amount of work she puts into producing one of these events and making everything come together in a short amount of time. Creating has been something I've been passionate about since I was a kid. From getting in trouble for drawing on my homework instead of actually doing it as a kid to becoming a professional videographer as an adult, I've always been pushing myself to try to create something new. Over the past five months I've taken on the new challenge of designing my own CJP merch and finally getting ready to release it!
