Folks,

I am incredibly honored by your response to my birthday yesterday; calls, letters, cards, texts, messages, and comments galore. How does one reply? It was a warm and wonderful time. Thank you.

Today is World Storytelling Day. I'm celebrating, not by doing much different than most days, just telling a lot of tales. My morning includes a visit to a Nature Preschool were I help start the campfire and share three interactive stories; Diane Wolkstein's 'Magic Wings' (for it is the first full day of Spring), Linda Williams' 'The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything ' (because after the first story, we couldn't stop acting), and (as two wasn't enough for them, and because we had Birthdays on our minds) I told my Mother's 'Uncle Pipper Papper's Mountain Cool Cake'.

The afternoon includes Dublin Public Library, where I'll fill another hour with stories for children and their families. What I'll tell remains to be seen, for one never knows who will be there or what they need to hear. We'll make it fun and that's what counts on a day between St Patrick's and Easter.

My last event is the Monadnock Story Circle at the DubHub. This is one of my favorite places to listen to others. The good ol' boys and fine women friends share an assortment of pieces; fanciful, literary, poetic, personal, historical, and/or pure lies. I always seem to find a tale to toss in too.

I'll need a good night's rest for Thursday will begin NE Storytelling's conference Sharing the Fire.

What an amazing World Storytelling Day!

Professional storyteller Rivka Willick has performed for corporate events, community celebrations, private parties, schools, and libraries for over 25 years. 10 years ago she attended a drum circle and got hooked. She learned skills to be a drum circle facilitator and combined story and rhythm. Her Story-Drum Circles are one of several unique programs she offers as a teller. Other programs include Haunted Bridal Showers, ‘LABOR DAZE’- a birth story show, ‘Fairytales from the French Court’, "Famous People You’ve Never Heard Of” and themed shows that mix traditional, historical, and original tales. She also leads workshops and works one-on-one with individuals and organizations to utilize stories for development, business, and fun. Rivka now lives on the Upper Delaware River in PA and has restored a 200 year old historical house which will open this spring as a TRADITIONAL B&B and CENTER FOR CREATIVE EXPLORATION.
