Rewind! Check out our past episode on a unique program: Saturday Education Program (STEP) in Southern Cali (Pomona College)

In a recent "Polys in the Bay Area" podcast episode, they shared info about this amazing resource. It's a great example of how immigrant parents can help their children acculturate by connecting the kids with helpful afterschool programs that want the best for them.

STEP is an original program that helps students with homework on Saturdays. It's ground-breaking because it prioritizes Tongan and Pacific students, and features an annual ngatu workshop.

Hear more about the STEP program in our interview:

S.T.E.P. (Saturday Tongan Education Program) is a pioneering program in Southern California - Inland Empire. After facing community issues of being underserv...

New episode 🌺🔥📺

At the advice of my mom, I converted this audio into a video because the storytelling was so rich and detailed. Mom said, this podcast episode would be more interesting with photos. I told her, that's not how podcast works. But she said, you can do something about that. Haha. As a result, you can now hear and watch this talk on youtube channel, "Pacific Stories in America."

Rex Tiumalu gave deep insight into growing up in the , his passion for fireknife dancing, and his excitement in serving The Mana Collective as Head of Entertainment. He brings his experience working for Disney World and running his own businesses into promoting the Polynesian cultures and values that the world needs to experience. We have a lot to share with society, and The Mana Collective wants to be the agent of progress and innovation.
