How do you understand the "good girl vs. bad girl" dichotomy?  Was becoming "bad" a conscious effort for you or did it just happen?  What influenced you to change your understanding of who you needed to be based on others' expectations?  You know we love breaking down false dichotomies over here, and this week we wanted to discuss our process of rejecting the many ways people try to control women and femmes' self-expression.  What's your journey? Tell us on social media:  https://linktr.ee/99percentanomaly.

Nessa's current definition of being bad mostly involves a nice uninterrupted day in the house. Yup, watch out, we have a badass over here! Cass discusses being a bad girl in the workplace. Dassa explores her various cycles of getting deeper into the bad girl life. Music by Sarel () and Jeff Pierre ().

Are selfishness and selflessness even a dichotomy? Do they actually stand as opposites? How connected are those concepts to the religious concepts that permeated our childhood? How do the concepts of self-care, self-love, and boundaries relate to the virtuous view of selflessness and the "sinful" view of selfishness? How do those concepts relate to capitalism in religious and secular sectors? This week, we turn upside-down yet two other concepts that many of us take for granted. Have you had to develop a new relationship to selfishness and /or selflessness? Share your stories with us on social media: https://linktr.ee/99percentanomaly .

Nessa questions the wholesomeness of posting evidence of yourself performing a good deed on social media.  Dassa loves to be selfish with her energy. Cass won't share her Netflix password, nor the contact of her cute friends. Music by Sarel () and Jeff Pierre (

How do you view the connection between homophobia and misogyny? Do you think sometimes parents use their kids or motherly/fatherly connection to their children to rationalize their homophobia and transphobia? Do you entertain the thought that your children (or future) might not identify with the gender assigned to them at birth or have a different sexual orientation than you expect? How are you doing your part to uphold da gay agenda? Come share with us in the comments!

Cass draws on the absurdity of the coming out process. Nessa is out here triggering homophobic women in her Mommy and Me classes. And Dassa gets at the core fear within homophobia: fear of fun! Music by Sarel () and Jeff Pierre ().

It's cuffing season, so we thought we'd share our horror stories with y'all! Are you outchea swiping? Come share your secrets with us on social media: https://linktr.ee/99percentanomaly.

Cass found love in a hopeless place, once. Nessa realized she gonna have to stick beside her man because it's cold out here in these single streets. Dassa refuses to "leave it at your door" (that will make sense when you listen). As always, music by Sarel () and Jeff Pierre ().

What is your relationship to your anger? How does the way we're taught to deal with our emotions affect our relationship with anger? Why do we avoid being angry? How has anger been useful to you? What do we consider valid anger? We're back from hiatus to discuss Nessa's favorite topic, emotions. This week is all about anger and the specific socialized relationship women have with it. Especially Black women. Got some angry stories? Share them with us in the comments!

Nessa laughs when she's angry. Dassa bathes in the adrenaline rush that comes with her anger. And Cass, well Cass has a particular angry reaction that well... we'll just let you find out for yourself. Music by Sarel () and Jeff Pierre ().

What was your longest commitment? How do you make yourself stick to a commitment? Have you ever asked for commitment in an area where you're not willing to return the commitment? How much thinking do you do before you commit to something? How long is too long? How does it affect you when you break a commitment? This episode was healing, a lot of different views, but connected at the core. Commitment is about values.

If you ask Cass, she only commits to the present, don't ask her to make any promises. This might be the softest Nessa you've head on this podcast so far (we're slowly wearing her out). Dassa sees the value of commitments, just don't ask her to put it on paper. Let's talk about our commitment issues on Social Media: https://linktr.ee/99percentanomaly. When did you first become aware of classism? How has classism affected your life? How do you understand where you are on the class spectrum? Has that understanding changed for you? This week, we're discussing yet another "ism". Let's talk Designer below! Don't forget to share so others can find us too 🤗.

Nessa had a lesson in humility early on. Cass experiences the elasticity of her class outside of the United States. Dassa has some questions for banks. Music by Jeff Pierre () and Sarel ().

Is Friendzoning a thing? Have you ever been friendzoned? Have you ever friendzoned somebody and then unfriendzoned them and then refriendzoned them after realizing "It" wasn’t it? Have you ever friendzoned somebody because you thought they were going to friendzone you but you friendzoned them first? This episode was one of those where we set up a bunch of questions that we completely ignored. Tell us all about your curving methods below!
Cass aka Miss Snip-Snip does not want to hear your declarations of love. Nessa wants to be your friend first but you should know that she likes you and you're supposed to stay faithful until she figures out whether she wants you or not. And she sees nothing wrong with that. Make it make sense, listeners. (Confession, this was a team-up on Nessa episode :D) And Dassa menm menm lan, her and her concept of friendship belong to a whole different planet. Music by Jeff Pierre () and Sarel ().

Are "alpha males" a thing? Who is the audience for all the alpha male/high-value men content? What is dangerous about the popularization of all this alpha male content? What are the alternatives for men who want to expand their view of themselves and do not want to define themselves based on a blueprint? (or a "whiteprint" if we're really talking about it). This week, this Tik Tok video reached Twitter and people haven't let their foot up off this man's neck, y'all. The jokes were flying off, the deep dives into his life, larger think pieces, all that. But as always, we wanted to approach the topic from a larger perspective. In this episode, we look at the bigger forces at play in the amplification of other people who post similar content as him and how the audience receives them. What's your alpha male story? Spill in the comments ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Nessa's brain short circuited when learning how widespread this type of content is. Dassa wants better for straight women but Cass thinks since they made the choice to be straight, they can deal with it. Music by Sarel (IG: ) and Jeff Pierre (IG: ).

What is your love language? Do you think there's a difference between the love language you like to express to other people and the love language in which you like to be loved? Do you judge any love languages? Do you prefer to partner with people who share your top love languages? We're back with 'another one!' This time we approach the famous concept of love languages. Grab your results from a good online test and let's continue the discussion on social media: https://linktr.ee/99percentanomaly.

Can you guess what Nessa's is? We already know you know it's not words of affirmation.  Cass will literally cuddle you to death, or at least the death of your arm. Dassa finally comes to the conclusion that she needs to stop messing with brokies like Cardi said, you know why. (I know that's right!). Music by Sarel (IG: ) and Jeff Pierre (IG: ).

In today's economy, should we be charging our parents for therapy? How does our environment as children affect how we handle our adult relationships? How do you heal without the acknowledgment, support, or apology from the people who hurt you? Can you pick and choose what you heal from? If yes, how do you decide?  When you become a parent, how do you handle not being able to protect your child from the traumas they'll inevitably experience? We've tried to record versions of this episode many times, and it's always hard. But we hope our journey will resonate with your own and you'll get what you need from this conversation. Let's keep it going on social media, what is your healing and reparenting process? : https://linktr.ee/99percentanomaly.

Nessa has a box you definitely don't want to touch and she talks about what she puts in it. If Cass takes you to meet her parents, start focusing on yourself King/Queen. Dassa discusses boundaries and anti-fatness. Music by Jeff Pierre (IG: ) and Sarel ()

When did in**st become the go-to fantasy in mainstream p**n?  How did you get into watching p**n? Would you do p**n? What kind of p**n would you do? Do you ever sit down and watch or do you only watch when other activities are involved? It's our 60th episode y'all! And we're back to our shenanigans. This time, it's all about p**n, our routines, as well as a look at the industry. Hit us up on social media to tell us what you put in the search box: https://linktr.ee/99percentanomaly.

Call her Peeping Cass, she loves to watch dat a*z. Nessa is triggered by the p**n sites' algorithms and this conversation. And Dassa wants to f**k paintings... It got weird y'all. As always, music by Sarel (IG: ) and Jeff Pierre (IG:

28/07/2021

How well do you think you know yourself? Do you think you have a dark side? What do you think about your dark side? How do people around you see you and how much does it affect you? What do you think is your major flaw and how do you deal with it? We're back with another conversation about growth and self-knowledge, focused on how we pay attention to how much we've grown and how we integrate that self-knowledge going forward. Come share with us your process for getting to know all the different parts of you on social media: https://linktr.ee/99percentanomaly.

Dassa brings up how sometimes we make the same discoveries about ourselves over and over, but getting deeper each time. Nessa points out how she learned a lot about herself by being thrown in an environment where she had to learn what she didn't like. Cass reminds us that knowing ourselves involves learning to adapt when and with how fast our selves change. Music by Sarel (IG: ) and Jeff Pierre (IG:

How did you discover the pleasures of ma********on? What is your ma********on process? How has your ma********on routine evolved from when you first started? Could you live without ma********ng? How has your ma********on regimen been transformed by the global pandemic? Oh we're definitely back! And this time, with an episode we recorded before the hiatus, at the height of the pandemic, as you'll see in the rant. But it's still a good one, and of course still applies because we are STILL in it. Take care of yourselves, y'all. And come tell us how you're "taking care" of yourself and whether you could relate to our ma********on practices on social media: https://linktr.ee/99percentanomaly.

Dassa has yet another bone to pick with the god of her youth (It's "mostly" about seafood tbh.... and girls :p). Nessa prefers the drive-thru, fast-food option of ma********on (the "wam-bam-thank-you-maam", if you will). And who in the world is surprised that Cass says her own name when she gets herself there? (Peak Aries, ladies and gentlemen!).  Music by Sarel (IG: ) and Jeff Pierre (IG:

The baz is baackk! We've been gone a while, we know, but in this episode, you'll find out exactly who you need to blame for our absence. Hint: it's about Motherhood, which is also the topic of our first episode for the year.  Is motherhood romanticized? What should men understand about pregnancy before they decide to have a child? Do women have enough space to honestly discuss their pregnancies? How can pregnant Black women advocate for themselves? We even do a Nick Cannon drive-by and the idea that dollar bills can nurse babies. Did you miss us? Come tell us how much on social media: https://linktr.ee/99percentanomaly .

Nessa tells us all that she's been up to during our hiatus, and it's a whole lot y'all.  Cass pours one out for the lost childhoods of older sisters. Dassa discusses the invisible labor accomplished by women wherever they exist. Music by Sarel (IG: ) and Jeff Pierre (IG:

Do you enjoy giving advice? What are the most frustrating aspects of giving advice to friends? Do you follow your own advice? Do you feel bullied into being invested in other people's problems? In the last episode of 2020, we get into a big aspect of this podcast, even though it's not in our branding: giving advice to your (girl)friends. Come tell us about how this podcast influenced you this year on Social Media: https://linktr.ee/99percentanomaly . "Surprisingly" Nessa gets too invested in her advice giving abilities. Just as "surprising", don't ask Cass for advice you don't really want to hear. Dassa is all about the trauma-bonding advice between friends who refuse to do better. Music by Sarel () and Jeff Pierre ().

How do white women uphold white supremacy? What does it mean to be an ally? How have you dealt white women highjacking conversations that do not center them? How many times has a white woman cried to control you? This week, we talk about White Men's ride or die, who don't get to fly under the radar, especially as 55% of them voted to keep vocal white supremacy in power. Bill Burr was right. Come rant with us on Social Media: https://linktr.ee/99percentanomaly.
Cass is all about reminding white people that they're white. Dassa is all about reminding white people that she's black. Nessa doesn't talk to them enough to remind them of anything. Music by Sarel () and Jeff Pierre (
