🚨 National First Responders Day 🚨
Today we pause the hustle, put down the to-do list, and say two words that never feel big enough:

𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮.

To the firefighters who run toward the flames.
To the EMTs who steady shaking hands and calm pounding hearts.
To the law enforcement officers who show up — day, night, weekends, holidays — when the rest of us are running the opposite direction.
To dispatchers who carry the weight of every frantic call.
To volunteer responders who drop whatever they’re doing — dinner, sleep, family time — when the radio tones out.

East Texas isn’t just held together by pine trees and good manners.
It’s held together by 𝐲𝐨𝐮.

You sacrifice comfort, safety, and sleep so our communities can keep moving forward.
You don’t just answer calls — you answer needs.

🚨 BURN BAN REMAINS IN EFFECT 🚨
Newton, Jasper, and Tyler Counties are still under a burn ban. The rain we got wasn’t enough to lift it — conditions are still too dry and risky for outdoor burning.

Please don’t burn anything until officials lift the ban.

We’ll post updates as soon as the bans change — stay tuned to the East Texas Banner for the latest local info.
