Maestro-level leaders are peer-based cohorts, particularly focused on accomplished executives seeking to build future value while working at business continuity and (their own) succession and legacy. Kristin Evenson, an all-star facilitator, calls the benefit of Maestro-level leader cohorts "camaraderie amidst ambiguity."
We give our take on peer-based advising in episode 41 of the Third turn Podcast. https://buff.ly/3RevXV7

I am an Ireland rugby fan whose only consolation from the recent World Cup is that Ireland is the last team to have beaten South Africa, followed by a great display of their own Irish unity. See: https://buff.ly/3MmvLS4 to give that a listen.
That takes away nothing from South Africa and this wonderful story of uniting across historic racial divides as daunting problems must be faced rather than disintegrating into mass casualties. May this uniting fever infect us all!
I confess partiality here because our recently announced North American partnership with Mygrow links us to a group of people in Cape Town whose lives and livelihoods are dedicated to increasing emotional intelligence.
South Africans are savoring a second consecutive World Cup victory, producing a racial unity that even Hollywood couldn’t make up and an escape from the country’s troubles.

"Send your boss a weekly one-pager with the status of your projects."
This, and a number of nuggets for anyone with a vision to grow their leadership acumen, can be found in this Rachel Feintzeig article in today's WSJ. I like this quote because that weekly one-pager staves off a multitude of meetings. Even if your boss doesn't read them, you'll have already focused your talking points for when. you have to repeat yourself.
Someone who wants to find their way to the C-Suite and be effective benefits from the cultivated habit of communicating upward. To a boss, to a board, to investors, to anyone who can shut you down with a cocked eyebrow.
Someone who wants to develop leadership in others, perhaps one's future successor, does well to expect a cadence of upward communication. It saves time in one-to-ones. Even more, the documentation trail it provides will speed up problem-solving when digging down into further detail is needed.
How to free yourself from office politics and bureaucracy, and get back to work.

Over the years I've written a number of articles for the Christian Leadership Alliance. A week or so ago I announced the most recent one posted "The Myth of Normal."
https://buff.ly/3rH5ZAU
In doing so, I found that it is pretty easy to search for all of the postings for any of us who have been writing. People like Andrea Cupayan, Brian Simmons, Al Hearn, and Scott Rodin (with whom I'm privileged to serve on the board of the center for Stewardship Studies). Other voices like Gary Hoag, Tami Heim, Rob McKenna, and so many more.
Searching by name or subject yields so many treasures. Here is an example of what you can find if you search for what I've been privileged to post.
