We are called by Christ to “be perfect as your heavenly father is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48) The apostle Paul tells us that we should “Examine ourselves….” (2 Corinthians 13:5) and again Paul tells us in Ephesians 4:22-24, “to put off your old self…” Every day we have a chance to be better and attain a higher level. Just as we do our best in school, work, or relationships, we often fall, slip, or trip. However, if we are honestly trying in every attempt, we can attain that next level. Keep on trying to be like Christ. (Romans 12)

If you don’t take my faith seriously, that’s your choice, but don’t dismiss my confident trust in God. Hear the quiet sigh of my soul when I say, “Christ has promised me eternity.” (John 10:29) If you have that kind of faith in your belief, philosophy, or religion, my hat’s off to you. But if you don’t, read what my Jesus says in the Gospel of John 10 and consider His promises. Consider the seriousness of your faith and the assurance of your eternity. May God bless you in your journey for a serious, confident faith.

Take a moment this weekend to say, "Thank you," to the men and women that serve and have served as the protectors of our nation. Soldier, Sailor, Airmen, Marine, or Coast Guard chose this profession despite the sacrifice and danger. I appreciate the difficult and often thankless job our service members perform every day. I appreciate the sacrifice and danger they put themselves through to provide that layer of protection around my family. May God protect and provide for you and your families!
