I chose music business because nothing but music has ever kept me in Church no matter what day of the week it is.

I chose music business because the sacred space between creation, the creator, and their team, is simply that. Sacred. There is much to be said about the amount of courage and vulnerability it takes to put yourself out there.

I'll forever ride for that.

I chose music business because I believe that passion, talent, and relatability to the human experience far supersedes societal narratives.

I chose music business, 'cause...🖕the Man.

I chose music business because I have forever resonated and identified with themes, ideas, feelings, and intangibles far more than my desire to integrate with the machine and "norms".

Naysayers, doubters, gossipers. Stay your asses on the sideline. You haven't ever stepped on the field and haven't yet had the courage to even make an attempt, let alone take the steps to achieve what's in your heart. I'd hate to die knowing what was in mine but didn't, couldn't, or wouldn't muster up the fortitude to TRY.

I choose to continue to pursue things that set me on fire no matter what the f**k anyone thinks about why or what I'm doing. I don't care if you don't understand. For those it's meant, it's understood. Love x ♾️

Bruce Springsteen sold the publishing and masters rights to his entire music catalog to Sony Music Entertainment this past December, for a reported $500 million. The deal includes his 20 studio albums, and is projected to be the biggest deal in history for a single artist's body of work, according to Billboard.

You might be asking why ""the Boss"" would sell the rights to his entire collection? These types of deals provide immediate financial security for the artist and their estates, by maximizing up front payment for the sale, versus over years in royalties revenue. It's up to the label to create new revenue from royalties, through sync licensing, cover versions, merchandise, and the like.

Nominees for the 64th annual Grammy Awards were recently announced. The electronic music community is strongly represented, especially in the category for best dance/electronic album of the year.
marshmello ILLENIUM Black Coffee Major Lazer and Ten City are in the running for this title. The winner will be announced the night of January 31st, 2022.

There are three different performing rights organizations (PROs) that are important to join as a writer in the music industry to increase recognition. PROs license, collect, and distribute public performance royalties on behalf of songwriters and music publishers. The only difference these organizations have are that ASCAP and BMI are open to anyone who would like to join, whereas SESAC is by invitation only.
