Sari & Rich were so gracious to invite us in to capture their elopement this past year. These two lovely souls held a formal Jewish ceremony in a Denver city park and then got off into the mountains to play and explore and we so love how uniquely their film came together! Enjoy! (Oh yeah...and Adonye Jaja photographed their celebration...he is with out question in our top 3 favorite photographers we've EVER worked with...EVER! His work is inspirational and please check it out! )

I woke up thinking about this film for some reason...it is a few years old now, but I revisited it and just wanted to share it again...I just love this piece...it really highlights the creativity of collaboration with the super cool couples we get to work with! Robbie and Rachel had such fun ideas for their wedding film, and we took those to heart while still letting our creativity loose. The result is one of my all time favorite films! I hope you all dig it as much as I do, and here is to a fun looking 2020 with some more stellar collaborations! https://vimeo.com/214787184

Film is such a collaborative media. With out set dressers, costumers, actors, producers, artists, graphic designers, gaffers, cinematographers, audio engineers, etc, most films are dead in the water. Filming weddings is an amazing documentary playground because we essentially have all of that talent on board to work with, and it is because of all the amazing collaborators on weddings that our films have the chance to turn out as beautifully as they did in this film with Cameron & Luke in Basalt Colorado. Additionally, we get to work with such cool couples and their families, and if we do our job right, documenting their love for one another takes pretty backdrops and makes them come alive with real and raw emotion! Similar to how a great actor can bring a script to life, our couples and their community of friends and family are what animate all of our films, and no acting is necessary.

So a big thank you to everyone behind the scenes, and to Cameron and Luke! You all trusted us to do our thing and we so appreciate it!

I wanted to share this film now because I think all my good friends and family in Colorado could use a film that makes them feel a bit warmer! (I admit to the irony here since this is a film series on global warming, but regardless of all the crazy nay-sayers out there, a snow fall is not evidence

Working with Dani and Patrick was like working with old friends. Granted, we had the great fortune of being referred to them by a previous couple we were also very lucky to work with, and that's always fun to see some familiar faces at a wedding...but the sheer kindness of Dani and Patrick, and that of their familie and friends, made us feel right at home and it speaks volumes to the good nature of this couple. We believe there is so much joy in store for these guys and we can't wait to see what they accomplish as a married couple in the world! It is such an honor to come into the fold on a couples special celebration of love, life, and community building, and we wish everyone out there reading this so much joy on this Thanksgiving holiday! Drink in the great company of friends and family, and we hope you dig this lovely little film we pieced together! Cheers!

Hello everyone! Please check out the latest film release on our blog from the How We Respond multimedia series on climate change! This film from Dane County delves into how a group of progressive elected officials and engineers came together to deal with the major issue of methane off-gassing at the local landfill. This is one of the more moving stories in our series, and I hope you love it!

Technology won’t solve all our climate change problems. In fact, one of the most overlooked yet powerful ways to draw down carbon in the atmosphere is by simply using more intelligent farming practices like cover crops, pasture rotations with animals, composting, crop rotations, and other age old ...

I just shared the second film from our How We Respond documentary series on climate change! This was a project done in collaboration with Impact Media Lab and The American Association for the Advancement of Science! Check out our blog for a bit more info and to see this moving story from Netarts Bay, Oregon! You can see all of the films in this series here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLY1zaOaaYKDvXPvVXHjjUh2sCcZ3foJIY And you can also learn a ton more on each story at the AAAS website for the larger multimedia project that these films are associate with: https://howwerespond.aaas.org/

I am so thrilled to announce the publication of an environmental multi-media project we’ve been working on with Impact Media Lab and The American Association for the Advancement of Science these past four months called, How We Respond. I had the opportunity to be a lead writer and the lead editor on the 8 films associated with this project. How We Respond focuses on inspirational stories of individuals, communities, and businesses coming together with scientists to adapt to, and combat, climate change. Solutions to some big problems are highlighted, and the whole series really aims to shift how we all view climate change. So often people feel disempowered in the face of climate change. Part of that feeling probably stems from the history of climate change being communicated as an inevitable apocalyptical scenario that spells out our certain doom. The reality is that some big changes absolutely have to take place, and quickly, but from my perspective, climate change can actually be seen as a great opportunity. With the help of the scientific community, I truly believe we can use climate change as a motivator to make our communities stronger, more resilient, and just more beautiful places to live in. So with this project, I really hope that people can see there are solutions out there… Solutions they can use or be inspired by... Solutions they can implement in their communities. And my biggest hope, is that this project really can start to shift the paradigm and inspire action! As one individual in our Dane County film says, “There is so much in our power that we can do! And we have to do something!” Head over to our blog (http://www.fmnmedia.com/thoughts-blog-film-photography/2019/9/18/how-we-respond-climate-change-stories-amp-solutions-documentary-series) to read more about this project and to start seeing some of the full films! And also make sure to visit the AAAS Website (https://howwerespond.aaas.org/) to see our films but also the full multi-media project!

It is always fun when you get to see your work get published and utilized outside of the expected initial reach. The lovely folks at THE BLACK TUX reached out to use some of our photographs we took last December and they did a beautiful job with this blog post telling Matt & Nathan's wedding story. Enjoy! https://theblacktux.com/blog/nathan-and-matthew/
