Greg Roberts.
What a piece of work.
Three years ago, he tried to incite armed vigilantes to fight "Antifa" -- even claiming Antifa had taken over Hawthorne Park.
Yes. Look at the screenshots.
Roberts is another one of those, I feel, local Gravy SEALs or Meal Team Six militia wannabes that infest Southern Oregon. He's pals with Ryan Mallory and Bill Meyer -- now, there's a cess pool toxic Alpha Male nonsense.
Recently, he's attacked the Watch Duty app and posted his usual rant.
Here's a rebuttal from a local first responder page who know what's going on:
RogueWeather.Com is spreading complete lies about Watch Duty.
Here is one of our team member's responses:
"Some of you might have seen a post on a certain "rogue" page earlier this morning about Watch Duty. I found it sad and perplexing, as I donโt understand why anyone would be against people having another way to get important - and potentially life-saving - information as quickly as possible. I honestly donโt get it.
There was so much false information in the post, and since it won't allow me to comment on it, Iโll just address a few things here:
- Watch Duty cooperates with incident PIOs to get official incident information out as soon as we receive it at the PIO email address dedicated to them. New relationships are being built all the time. The claim that Watch Duty is funded by Californiaโs government is patently false, btw.
- Watch Duty is so not about money - and the features you need to stay safe and informed will always be FREE. I have been a part of the team for over a year now and I can tell you that this is a group of the best and most dedicated people I have ever met. Theyโve all been impacted by fire in the past, and thatโs why they VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME to build an amazing app that reporters use to get accurate, vetted information out to people asap - like initial conditions and evacs for McKinney, Mill, Head, etc. (Remember what that was like before, and how hard it was to find out what was happening and if you should get ready to go??!!) As of today, there are over 100 volunteers and a grand total of 6 paid employees, who are necessary to keep things running.
- Watch Duty is not trying to replace or eliminate any of the sources people already use to get information - including Siskiyou Alerts, Siskiyou OES, CodeRED, Siskiyou Sheriff's Department, KNF, or CAL FIRE! Many, many people who volunteer also have their own groups, and they continue to do like we do here and post to their own pages as well as Watch Duty. The beauty of the app is that it pushes critical notifications to your phone, so you donโt have to wade through a million posts or comments to find the latest information.
About mean kids, my mom always used to say, โTheyโre just jealous.โ Itโs weird to me that some individual pages and groups that claim to serve and care about the people who follow them are so threatened by an app and a team that actually does.
I think Mike Krueger and his Weather Norcal app and page are a perfect example of how people can leverage Watch Duty to enhance the value and expertise they already provide. He takes the time to create localized forecasts and content for the different areas of Siskiyou. In addition to Alerts and Watch Duty, you should check him out!"
Like Mallory, I think Roberts is a cowardly bully who attacks, spreads lies and conspiracy theories -- and like Mallory, doesn't like it when people challenge him.
Maybe it's time his page and local sponsors need to be boycotted.
