“Purposeful Thinking” was written to put all the FACTS in front.

It was made with the intention of CALLING ATTENTION to the most kept secrets in our world. 🗣️🗣️

The unfortunate truth for Black women experiencing trauma due to sexual assault or domestic violence is never beautiful, peaceful, or even supportive.

We are extremely underrepresented, which causes us to create the “strong black woman” complex in every situation where we are FORCED to place our needs and mental health beneath everyone else’s.

We are told to PUSH through our pain because we are NEEDED for everyone else’s sorrows and transgressions…leaving NO ROOM for us to heal or succeed.

Mental health following trauma presents YEARS of riding on a rollercoaster of emotions. And within our community discussing it is never the easiest subject.

I am a SURVIVOR and I strive to push women into the same mindset when it comes to achieving our goals and the therapy needed to achieve the life we DESERVE!!

Keep your head to the sky this Wednesday! The finish line is never out of reach and your past is irrelevant.

Stuck on a chapter? 😒

Did your juice run out and you’ve become…unmotivated? 😩

It happens to the best of writers. Even the FAMOUS ones! 📸

Sometimes we just need a change of scenery or to backtrack and delete some of what we’ve already written to start anew.

Yes this HURTS 😔 But I have realized sometimes we must remove what isn’t working to gain a better view of the full picture 🖼️

It takes some bravery and courage but this is one of the top tips I provide to writers to help them get out of their own way and not have doubts running around.

It also takes humility. *sigh* I understand we are writers…and we’re sensitive about our SH**!!

Many Black people believe they would be viewed as "crazy" and unsupported by their friends and family if they told them they suffered from mild depression. Although there is still a stigma in the Black community when it comes to mental health, more Black teenagers and young adults are going to therapy and engaging in conversations about mental health.
