New Education Policy 2020 is announced

1. 10+2 board structure is dropped
2. New school structure will be 5+3+3+4
3. Upto 5 pre school, 6 to 8 Mid School, 8 to 11 High School , 12 onwards Graduation
4. Any Degree will be 4 years
5. 6th std onwards vocational courses available
6. From 8th to 11th students can choose subjects
7. All graduation course will have major and minor
Example - science student can have Physics as Major and Music as minor also. Any combination he can choose
8. All higher education will be governed by only one authority.
9. UGC AICTE will be merged.
10. All University government, private, Open, Deemed, Vocational etc will have same grading and other rules.
11. New Teacher Training board will be setup for all kinds of teachers in country, no state can change
12. Same level of Accreditation to any collage , based on its rating collage will get autonomous rights and funds.
13. New Basic learning program will be created by government for parents to teach children upto 3 years in home and for pre school 3 to 6
14. Multiple entry and exit from any course
15. Credit system for graduation for each year student will get some credits which he can utilize if he takes break in course and come back again to complete course
16. All schools exams will be semester wise twise a year
17. The syllabus will be reduced to core knowledge of any subject only
18. More focus on student practical and application knowledge
19. For any graduation course if student completes only one year he will get a basic certificate, if he completes two years then he will get Diploma certificate and if he completes full course then he will get degree certificate. So no year of any student will be wasted if he break the course in between.
20.All the graduation course feed of all Universities will be governed by a single authority

Kafeel Khan: A Letter From Mathura Jail

"I don't know why I am being punished." After 157 days in jail for a speech against the government, UP doctor Kafeel Khan, writes a letter to his fellow citizens, describing his dismal life in jail when he could be helping battle the pandemic.

TRANSLATED BY REETU ROHINI

Mathura: “I don’t know why I am being punished. I don’t know when I will be able to see my children, my wife, my mother and my brothers and sister. I don’t know when I will as a doctor, fulfil my duties and fight the menace of Coronavirus alongside my brethren.”

Kafeel Khan, an Uttar Pradesh (UP) doctor, said this in an open letter, written in Hindi, from Mathura Jail, where he has been for 157 days now.

Khan has been in jail since 29 January 2020 for a speech in which he criticised the government during the protests around the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019. He was granted bail on 10 February by an Aligarh Court but on 13 February, the Yogi Adityanath government in UP promulgated the 40-year-old National Security Act,1980, against their former lecturer and paediatrician.

Khan was suspended from UP government service when the sudden cessation of oxygen supply on 10 August 2017 killed more than 60 children at the Baba Raghav Das Medical College in the eastern UP town of Gorakhpur, 270 km northeast of state capital Lucknow. After he spent almost nine months in prison for alleged medical negligence, a government-appointed inquiry acquitted Khan in September.

This is second letter Khan has written in recent months.

On 19 March, Khan wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, offering his help as a medical professional to fight the coronavirus.

“Sir, with my 20 years of experience in medical field and more so by those 103 free medical camps I had conducted since out of jail after BRD oxygen tragedy, I feel I could be of some help in curtailing this disease,” he wrote.

The Supreme Court on 23 March 2020 ordered all states to release some prisoners on parole or bail to reduce overcrowding in prisons. It also directed states to constitute committees to decide on the matter. Maharashtra was one of the first states to comply.

In June, a UP government official told The New Indian Express that it released 17,963 prisoners on parole, in accordance with the Supreme Court’s order. Khan was not one of them.

In his letter, Khan detailed his daily routine, from waking up at 5 am to falling asleep after the evening maghrib prayer. “In a jail made for 534 inmates, there are 1,600 people kept with one barrack holding at least 100-125 of us,” he wrote. “There are just 4-6 toilets.”

After a breakfast of daliya (broken wheat) or channa (chickpeas), Khan said, he would walk for a few minutes before going to his barrack and relaxing on his fatta (a bed made using a blanket and a bedsheet).

“People sleep very close to one another so forget social distancing; you are surrounded by millions of flies all the time,” he wrote. “You have to keep flicking them away. Even if you stop in between for 5-10 minutes, they rest on your body.”

Khan said he ate the watery dal and boiled vegetables served daily only to survive. “Due to the coronavirus, nobody can even meet me from outside. Otherwise they would bring me fruits and that would be good enough to survive on, but not now.”

“With just one attached toilet, 125-150 inmates, the smell of their sweat and urine mixed with unbearable heat due to electricity cuts makes life hell over here: A living hell indeed.

“I try to read but cannot focus due to suffocation. It sometimes feels that I might fall due to dizziness caused by that suffocation. So I keep on drinking water.”

He said it was impossible to focus on anything. “After reading the maghrib prayers, I sit with a novel for a long time, trying to read at least a bit. But all in vain as it is so suffocating that I can’t just explain…

“The entire barrack seems like fish market infused with all kinds of smells including those someone coughing, sneezing, farting, urinating or sweating. Some people snore, some fight, some scratch themselves,” he said.

“Usually the entire night is spent sitting, waiting for the morning.”

Madhav, on the question of restoring full statehood to Jammu Kashmir, said that his party supports it.

He said, BJPs Jammu Kashmir unit is of the opinion that statehood should be given back when the time is favourable. “We want JK to be restored to a full state”s status. Home Minister Amit Shah himself said while granting UT status that work would be done to get full statehood back very soon. The Assembly is yet to be constituted and delimitation for UT is pending.”

He admitted that there was opposition from people after the removal of special status on August 05 last year, adding that, people have realised that due to Article 370, the personal prosperity of the Kashmiri leaders only increased, but the public did not benefit, Now the public”s attitude is looking positive.

He said that Geelani”s resignation will not be able to cover up his political misdeeds of the last 30 years as thousands of youths died in the valley for which Geelani is responsible.

MMU said that the government order dated 16 th June which is widely circulating on social media clearly stating governments plan to set up liquor shops at 67 locations in Kashmir valley is causing grave concern and anguish among the Muslims of the valley.

MMU said it is malafide that this government in the midst of the major global pandemic when all energies are focused on the fight against it is instead busy bringing in ordinances and rules to change the demography of the Muslim majority state and now by such orders is further assaulting our Muslim identity and values and hurting our religious sentiments .

MMU asked the government to immediately withdraw this immoral and anti-Islam order.

I do not mean to deplore our former greatness in this country, for, I confess, I am a fatalist in regard to the various forces that ultimately decide the destinies of nations. As a political force we are perhaps no longer required; but we are, I believe, still indispensable to the world as the only testimony to the absolute Unity of God- our value among nations, then, is purely evidential.

Wanted Drug Peddler Arrested In Kalantra Kreeri, 1/2KG Charas Recovered

Kreeri, June 20: In decisive action and on the directions of SSP Baramulla Shri Ab Qayoom and under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri Shri Rameez Raja and SHO Kreeri, a police party laid a naka at Kalantra Kreeri.
During naka a vehicle bearing registration number DL2CAE-2820 driven by Ab Rehman Malik S/O Gh Mohd Malik was asked to stop for checking at Kalantra Bridge, during checking of the vehicle 1/2KG of charas like substance was recovered.
The driver of the vehicle tried to flee from the spot but was chased by the police team and after hectic efforts the said person was apprehended from the orchards of Kalantra.
In this regard an FIR No 60/2020 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Kreeri and further investigation has been initiated.

Its pertinent to mention that the person was a Chronic drug peddler and supplier in the area.The person is already involved in so many NDPS cases.
People of the area has hailed the efforts of Kreeri police and has requested SSP Baramulla to take strict action against this wanted drug peddler.
Meanwhile SDPO Kreeri Shri Rameez Raja and SHO Kreeri has requested community members to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood.
