This handsome boy is Hero. Hero asked Santa for his forever home - can you help make that happen? He has been waiting for months for his family to find him and bring him home! His foster mom says he loves to be outdoors soaking up the warm sunshine. He also loves going on hikes and leash walks in the New England ambiance! He is good with other dogs but wouldn't mind being solo. Hero is house trained, knows "sit" and "stay,", is very smart and is a social butterfly! Hero has medium-level energy and would love a home where he gets outdoor activities. He is ok with older kids but no cats please (he has a prey drive). Hero would love to use his intelligence to learn as much as he can! This handsome pup is a well-behaved dog that is going to be a great addition to any home! Hero is 2 ½ years old, 45 pounds and is even more handsome in person!

The National Weather Service was expecting 2 to 3 inches of rain to fall throughout much of the state. It issued warnings for Rutland, Windsor, Washington and Lamoille counties.

Donald and Daisy are very cute loving dogs. They can act more like puppies then 5-year-old adult dogs at times! These two absolutely love each other and Passion 4 Paws Vermont would love to find them a forever home that can love them both! They get along with their fosters four other dogs and love to run zoomies in the backyard! They came from a very overcrowded shelter and are still learning how to live in a house, but with time and patience they have come a very long way in a short period of time! Daisy is very loving while Donald prefers to sleep in his foster dad's chair (under a blanket of course!) These two LOVE to play. They are crate trained and working on potty training. They love treats and have learned the routine of their fosters house quite well, but they really want a new forever home for Christmas!

"If I give you a big smile, will you give me a forever home?" Buddy is everyone's pal! He's about 6 years old and 79 pounds. Buddy was out of time at the shelter in SC. He was found roaming homeless by a good Samaritan that couldn't keep him. While at his temporary foster's house, he was great with 3 other dogs, the kids, and may be okay with cats (all cat-dog relationships are different). Buddy is a laid-back pup that would love to adventure with you and curl up on the couch. He loves belly rubs and being told what a handsome boy he is! Let's find this sweet guy the loving home he deserves!

Looking for a sweet, younger pup? Tinker is your girl! Tinker is 10 months old and 27 pounds. Tinker was found at the overcrowded shelter in SC on her last day. She was absolutely petrified in her kennel; all of the loud noises and being all alone was overwhelming for her.
Tinker has to have another dog in the home; another dog would show her the world isn't such a scary place. She is likely good with cats (all cat-dog relationships are different). She is a shy introvert, so another calm, confident pup as her brother/ sister would be great! She is just waiting for someone to show her love and give her the forever home she deserves.

Pint-sized and perfect! Meet Darcy. She was rescued as a wandering stray with her brother in NC. Passion 4 Paws Vermont has no idea what she's been through, but they assume it wasn't an easy life. She is a nervous nellie and timid of new situations; she will take time to warm up. Her fitting home would be patient, experienced and empathetic; allowing her to make the choice to trust and progress to her humans. Being homeless and a small dog can be very scary! Another dog in the home would be ideal to learn from. She is good with other dogs and likes to play but no cats please. Are you Darcy's hero? She deserves to be shown the good life!

Meet Bambi. Bambi is 12-months old and 55 pounds. Bambi was found as a homeless stray; she has been through so much already in her short life! Bambi is very sweet, happy, fun, and affectionate! She loves to walk in the woods and is learning commands such as sit, down, leave it, stop, come here and she is showing progress with all each of them. Bambi would love an active home (no cats please as she likes to chase them), where she can continue with her basic training, get plenty of exercise and mental enrichment. Bambi is crate trained, potty trained, and has medium+ energy, loves walks in the woods, loves to smell everything, loves a Kong with peanut butter, loves to rest her head on her foster moms' knees and get a massage. Let's give Bambi a home for the holidays!

Attention all you small dog lovers!!! Looking for not ONE but TWO lil pups? These two darlings are Bert and Ernie! Bert is the darker of the two and Ernie is the tan boy. They are an extremely bonded pair that are looking for a forever home to stay in together, forever. They are about 2 years old and 14 pounds each. Both Bert and Ernie's best home would be patient, empathetic, and give them time to adjust to their new world. They weren't exposed to people they could trust in the beginning of their life, and they deserve a chance to know that people are good! They are both such sweet boys that, with patience, they will thrive and will be so grateful! Bert and Ernie are good with dogs and likely cats, too.

Meet sweet Marcie. Marcie is about 18 months, she weighs 48lbs, vetted, is or will be spayed and micro-chipped. This beautiful, southern girl was found at an overcrowded shelter in SC and was almost out of time. Passion 4 Paws Vermont couldn't let that happen! Marcie is a social butterfly. She has done well with other dogs, may be ok with cats (sometimes interested and sometimes not when in the same room), and absolutely loves to play ball outside! She is energetic and once she has her playtime, she loves to cuddle. She thinks she is a lap dog! Marcie is crate trained but she requires you to give her a treat before she goes in and will give queues when she has to go potty! She also knows commands: Sit, wait, lay down (almost), paw, come, her name, and "drop the ball". Marcie absolutely loves to play with her ball and would love to have her humans join in on the fun! Marcie fetches and returns (except when she wants you to play "catch me if you can" with the ball)! Play time has been around ½ hour each time – she lets you know when she is done. She will just lay down! She loves car rides. Marcie has been a good at-home office dog and will lay in her bed when her human is working or play by herself with toys or a ball. This sweet girl just wants to be wherever you are and will snuggle right up with you when its nighttime! Marcie is very smart and has learned very quickly. She greets you when you come home as if you were gone months! Who doesn't want that? She trains well with treats and consistency. Marcie loves the outdoors; she would be the best addition to a family, and we would love to give her a forever home for the holidays!

This incredibly handsome boy is Dean. This two-year-old guy was at shelter down south and Passion 4 Paws Vermont rescued him a few hours before his time was up! Dean is FULL of personality and is such a happy boy. We're not sure how he hasn't had anyone love him long enough to teach him his ABCs. Dean has been good with other dogs, especially if they match his playful energy. Dean is an overgrown puppy, so he needs to learn the basics. His energy is on the higher end of medium; He would love to accompany you on long walks or runs, mountain treks or anything else active and outside! Dean is social with everyone he meets. He wants everyone to be his bestie! He would love an active, experienced home where he could be the center of attention and will get the training, exercise, and mental enrichment he has never been loved long enough to get!
