So excited to announce the official release date for Cloie's first cookbook! Gather: The Foods That Made Me will be released on Tuesday, August 15 at her release party. Special Thanks to Marshall-Lyon County Library for hosting her Book Release, Author Talk, and Book Signing.

Guess what friends? My person Mom is doing a sneak peek live reading of No Puppy on Tuesday night at 8 PM. She's a really great human - even if she is prone to exaggeration! (While I maybe did all the things in the book, she maybe embellished them some. Okay, not really, But you will at least get a good chuckle out of this book!)
But my person sister - NOW she did a fabulous job of capturing my likeness in her illustrators.

Seems like a lot of attention has been given to my BIG little brother and his love of remote controls.
But let's just get this straight - I am the original KING of mischief making. So much so - our person mom wrote a book about me and all my shenanigans. She tried to preserve my dignity by placing me in another family, but make no mistake, this book features ME and some (but definitely not all) of my past (or not so past) bad habits.
If you love dogs, you are going to LOVE this book! Mom says the test market readers laughed and laughed. Also, because my family is so cool - a portion of the proceeds of the book are going to animal rescues including our neighbors the Tracy Area Animal Rescue.

Our tiny dream went to college! Today, our CEO had the opportunity to share about our family's stories and how publishing works with a Children's Literature class at Southwest Minnesota State University! What joy it was to learn about the students' favorite children's stories and what was so special about them. (The really cool thing was to know that we are incorporating those elements in our stories.)

Tomorrow is the BIG day! Mykayla's first book, "A Party without Peanuts" will be launched at Daily Clean Food & Drink in Sioux Falls. We will have food allergy friendly treats with our Trunk-or-Treat, a book signing, and meet the author!
Also, for every book purchased a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Anaphylaxis and Food Allergy Association of Minnesota (AFAA) for summer camps for kids!

Every Miz Stevens Publishing LLC project has an associated charity. Our newest author, Mykayla Vollmer, has chosen the Anaphylaxis and Food Allergy Association of Minnesota as her charity. AFAA has the mission of taking the fear out of food allergies. We've selected October 30th as a lead in to Halloween to raise awareness of children's food allergies for Mykayla's new book, "A Party without Peanuts". A portion of the sales of this book will be donated to AFAA!

Did you know some individuals outgrow some food allergies? But some like one of the main characters in "A Party without Peanuts" will never outgrow her allergy to peanuts. In the 1970's, Chevrolet had a major advertising campaign with a really catchy jingle that strove to capitalize on the quintessential American summer. "We love baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet." Turns out that first love was then and is still is problematic for many families. Even the 7th evening stretch explains the issue.

For years, many children who have peanut allergies haven't been able to enjoy taking in a game at the ball park. Today, nineteen of the thirty MLB teams offer some peanut free games, zones, or options.
