I am honoring my friend Ryan Cook who recently passed. I hope you will listen or watch as Ryan shares so much joy, triumph, and vulnerability. There are no ads in the episode, just a conversation with an extraordinary person whom I was able to call my friend.

Ryan is a man who lived faith, love, and being of service to others and an example proving that anyone is capable of change.

Ryan leaves behind a loving and amazing wife, son, and beautiful family. Ryan touched the lives of so many through acts of kindness. His passion as a fishing guide, in which he took so many families (including my own), underprivileged children, and special needs children on their first fishing trips.

The world has been a better place because you were in it, Ryan. I love you, my friend until we meet again someday.

I was stuck on 'How you do anything is how you do everything'. And for me, it showed up like a mirror.

What I do and don’t like about myself, life, and actions. I view it as an opportunity to do something about it.

I apply this principle t to relationships and how I judge others. My judgment of someone else is a mirror showing me what I probably don’t like about myself, or rather what I want to be like.

Brian is a trained actor and filmmaker who recently brought the stage play Wrath Mercy to the big screen and is working in the addiction recovery field.

I talked with Brian about the depths of his addiction, and how various traumas including his complicated relationship with his parents and being ostracized for his s*xual orientation. Brian struggled greatly with his addiction to the point of homelessness. He struggled to be himself with his family and find faith in a higher power. Through rehab, heartache, and personal growth, Brian has found love for himself and finally finished a 20-year journey of translating the stage play Wrath Mercy, which had a huge personal impact on him into a film.
