It's Wedding Day!
It's wedding day for Blair & Myles! I was able to spend a little time with them this past summer during engagements. They are such a sweet, fun and outgoing couple. I can't wait to start off my 2023 wedding season today by celebrating their big day with them. 💜
That's a wrap for 2022!
19 weddings. 2 states. One year. I am so grateful to have been able to capture the wedding day of each of these wonderful couples over the last year. Each of their love stories is different, so unique just as God has orchastrated as he prepared them to start this new chapter in their lives together. This was my 3rd year of filming weddings, it was one of growth even with small obstacles. Many thanks go to these amazing couples for trusting me in capturing these precious memories that will last forever. As well as being some of the sweetest souls to me and my family during a time of my dad's cancer surgery and treatment. I can't wait to see what year 4 brings for me and Soul + Oak. Cheers🥂 to the New Year! 💜

I get to work along side some pretty amazing vendors at weddings! And over the last few years I have became pretty good friends with some of them. Where we can joke, have fun, and talk as if we have known each other for over a decade. That's how I met Daren Prince with Beats 2 Geaux Wedding & Event DJ's. We met over 3 years ago at one of my first weddings, he left a great impression on me that I remembered him at another wedding I helped with a few months later.
Booking vendors that can make your wedding day flow smooth as it should and make your guest enjoy your day is a big thing to look for. Beats2Geaux is one of the few DJs I will highly recommend for your wedding or event. I've always told him he's had a voice for being a DJ and knows what he is doing. He has some pretty great mixes that he plays and has always keeps the party going at the reception. If you are around the Alexandria area, definitely get with them if you are in need of a DJ.

In honor of it being exactly one month before this fun couple gets married I figured I would share this fun video! I worked with Tyler for the first time 2 years ago at a wedding; then again last year before he took a break from being a DJ and decided to follow the beautiful Lexi to Pennyslvania while she finished up her PHd. Of course, he had to leave Louisiana in style by proposing to her at their going away party. :) I was definitely honored when he reached out to me about seeing my availability for a date and then revealed it was for them.
I sent him this video last year and he laughed and was grateful it didn't make it into the wedding video. Haha. He said he would have to use this when he was back to taking DJ gigs. So, my friend, I'll help you out. If you are in need of a DJ and want these dance moves to make an appearance check out Bayou Entertainment Services. The Sweetest Grandparents Dance
Happy Grandparents Day!
One of my questions I ask about a month before each wedding is "What relationships are the most important to you?". This is just a way for me to make sure I capture those people that are important like grandparents, godparents, and etc.
A little back story. This sweet couple, their granddaughter Braleigh was one of my April 2021 brides and she mentioned her Poppa and Granny being one of those important relationships to her. During the reception, they were the only two on the dance floor and I thought it was the sweetest moment ever. Braleigh reached out to me in January of 2022. Her Granny's health had taken a turn for the worst over the last few months, she was home on hospice, and things were not looking good. In her highlight there was a clip of them from this dance and she wanted to know if I had more of it as she was starting to gather pictures and videos for the funeral. I ended up having a 1:30 video of her grandparents dancing at the reception that I was able to send over to her.
It truly broke my heart, because it was only a day or two after sending that video that her sweet Granny passed away. I've always known videos and pictures are priceless, but it wasn't until sending her a longer version of this that made me realize this could have been their last dance they shared, and I was able to give them this keepsake. Hug your grandparents while you can, but also capture all those memories you can in pictures and videos. 💜

When Kalon inquired with me about capturing hers and John Tyler's big day and told me a little about their love story all I could think about was the song "You're Still the One" by Shania Twain. Kalon and John Tyler started dating at the young ages of 15 and 16 years old but they knew they both had a serious love for each other and it flourished over time. In their highlight you will hear their vows very briefly and the emotions that came over each of them as they were saying them. The sweetest thing ever. 😭I'm so glad I got to be a part of this special day with a great group of people. ☺💜
