Emphasis was placed on high subsonic maneuverability. Detail design was finalized by the end of 1983, and the construction of six XT-4 prototypes began in the spring of 1984. The construction effort was collaborative, with Fuji building the wing, rear fuselage and tail unit, Mitsubishi the centre fuselage and air inlets, and Kawasaki the forward fuselage.

A-4AR Fightinghawk
The Lockheed Martin A-4AR Fightinghawk is a major upgrade of the McDonnell Douglas A-4M Skyhawk attack aircraft developed for the Argentine Air Force which entered service in 1998.

The program was named Fightinghawk in recognition of the F-16 Fighting Falcon, which was the source of its new avionics.

The Saab JAS 39 Gripen is a light single-engine multirole fighter aircraft manufactured by the Swedish aerospace company Saab AB. The Gripen has a delta wing and canard configuration with relaxed stability design and fly-by-wire flight controls. Various versions have been built, grouped as A-, C- and E-series.

Four serial production aircraft will be transferred to the Brazilian air force during 2021, along with two to Sweden’s Defence Materiel Administration, says Jonas Hjelm, head of Saab’s aeronautics business area.

Apache AH-64
The Apache AH-64D/E is the Army’s attack helicopter. It is capable of destroying armor, personnel and materiel targets in obscured battlefield conditions. The Apache is fielded to both Active Army and Army National Guard armed reconnaissance battalions and cavalry units. The aircraft is designed to support Brigade Combat Teams across the full spectrum of warfare.

There are currently over 500 Apache in operation or in development across 16 partner nations. The current acquisition objective is 812 aircraft.

As Canada’s first true intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) helicopter, the fly-by-wire Cyclone is equipped with a fully integrated mission system, modern sensors and a multi-mission cabin — providing a quantum leap in maritime helicopter capability.
Entry into service with the Royal Canadian Air Force occurred mid-2018 aboard one of the Royal Canadian Navy’s Halifax-class frigates.

Full operational capability of the fleet is scheduled in 2022.

Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the militaries of a number of former Soviet republics have continued to operate the MiG-29, the largest of which is the Russian Air Force. The Russian Air Force wanted to upgrade its existing fleet to the modernised MiG-29SMT configuration, but financial difficulties have limited deliveries. The MiG-29 has also been a popular export aircraft; more than 30 nations either operate or have operated the aircraft to date.

Sukhoi - Su25
The Sukhoi Su-25 (Western reporting name Frogfoot) remains the mainstay of Russian ground-attack regiments. The type is broadly analogous to the US A-10 but has been matured into a more sophisticated warplane.

The multi-mission H145M
It features advanced main and tail rotor gearboxes, as well as a Fenestron shrouded tail rotor for better anti-torque control. The tail rotor is fitted with composite asymmetrical blades that reduce noise levels.
The H145M can seat up to 11 personnel including crew and troops. The large cabin space accommodates up to ten troops in a high-density air assault layout or a fully-equipped force for special operations.
The helicopter has a fast cruise speed of 244km/h, a maximum speed of 250km/h, and a maximum range of 662km. Its outstanding hover performance allows for operations at altitudes of 2,700m (8,858ft)

The Lockheed L-188 Electra is an American turboprop airliner built by Lockheed. First flown in 1957, it was the first large turboprop airliner built in the United States. Initial sales were good, but after two fatal crashes that led to expensive modifications to fix a design defect, no more were ordered.
With its unique high power-to-weight ratio, huge propellers and very short wings (resulting in the majority of the wingspan being enveloped in propwash), large Fowler flaps which significantly increased effective wing area when extended, and four-engined design, the airplane had airfield performance capabilities unmatched by many jet transport aircraft even today—particularly on short runways and high field elevations.
