This weeks main project is 2000ft of 8mm film on assorted size reels that needed cleaning, re-splicing, digitizing (approx. 144,000 individual frames) and putting together into a movie with added music. This will be an emotional and nostalgic surprise Thanksgiving gift for my clients family.

This antique photo needed some restoration work before I colorized the portrait. With this example I demonstrate how I can also soften the expression and shift her gaze more to the camera. It's a matter of personal preference to have alterations made on the original, but its nice to be able to have options.

After scanning at a high 12oo dpi and a little restoration work on this Edwardian era antique photo I added some color which provided a little more depth and realism to the portrait. Tell me what you think about colorizing, I would love to know your opinions.

The original faded and damaged photograph is only 5 inches in height. I scanned at 1200 DPI using a professional flatbed scanner to capture the smallest of details. I was then able to work close-up to the image to remove the water damage, scratches and other marks. The final result is a great improvement.
