Shoes Optional on air tonight at 9pm.
TL/DR: I won't be talking about the election. This week's show is meant to be a mental release through music for those who need it.
PSA: I will not be talking about the election on my show tonight. I, as well as many of you are, am extremely disappointed and saddened by the results of the election and its potentially horrific implications. I am astounded and impressed, however, by the sheer amount of loving-kindness and support I’ve seen from my friends both in person and on Facebook. It is important to be proactive and take action in response to what just happened, and I’m amazed by how many people have created forums for doing just that.
That being said, mental health is extremely important and critical. Everybody has their own way of dealing and coping with the result of this election, and it’s important to take your mental health and well-being seriously. I am offering my show this week as a mental release from the election, and will only be playing music and talking about fun concerts and plays taking place in the DC area this coming week.
If you need someone to talk to, someone to make food for you, or someone to just give you a hug, I’m here. If you want to just rock out to some music and release for an hour, feel free to tune in to wmuc.umd.edu at 9pm for Shoes optional
