For almost 50 years, Hermosa Beach has been celebrating the morning of July 4th by transforming this calm pacific town, south of LA, into the site of a gnarly Ironman unlike any other. This is a story about a thrilling tradition of sprinting, paddling, and beer-chugging.
The Hermosa Beach Ironman kicks of with a one mile run down the beach, competitors then grab their surfboards and complete a one mile paddle, and finally they return to beach and drink six beers. Throw up and you’re disqualified!
While drinking alcohol on LA’s beaches is illegal, yellow tape marks a 50 square yards area where the law does not apply.

Among others Sharp Eye Surfboards in San Diego. However, 28 years ago, he decided to move to Switzerland. Of course we wanted to find out what on earth drew him away from these dream surf destinations to Switzerland, a country without any ocean or sea.
And how does he make a living as a shaper, in a country with mountains and snow, instead of swells and reefs?
