Look, we all mess up. We all fall short of the glory of God. Our mess ups, sometimes cause us to be in a spiral of shame. The enemy tries to use shame to create distance between you and God because the enemy wants you to think that you’re unworthy of God’s love and acceptance so you will always be bound to your sin. Shame is the enemy’s tactic to keep you stuck; don’t let him win. Talk to God about your shortcomings, your mess ups, and your sin. It’s never off limits.

When we talk to God about our desires we can gain clarity, peace, and comfort from Him. Whether you are wanting to abstain but struggling, having same s*x attraction but want to submit it to God, or fear s*x because of trauma or lack of education; whatever it is, talk to God about it. It’s never off limits.

Most of us lack a true relationship with Jesus because we don’t understand his true character. We can think that he is disappointed by us, that he would reject us, or that he requires for us to be perfect to stand before him. But, that is the opposite of God’s character. He wants to know you - all of you. He wants to know every part of you that seems bad or ugly because he died for those parts of you. Without opening yourself up to Jesus and baring it all, you will never feel like he is a safe space for you. You can trust him because he loved you before you even knew him.
