Music industry advice Thursday…
One of the most frequent questions we get asked from clients is… “is getting a record deal still the way” or “if not what is” Lets be honest what we usually mean is how do I become a ⭐️ every childhood dream!
The truth is… it’s always changing and there is no ONE way! But what has happened over the last 5-10 years, particularly in the country and pop genres… is that the publishing companies have become THE major player in the game!
Now publishing companies have always been a player in the game, but more recently it’s publishing companies who are developing their writers into artist not the labels. The labels are looking for quick gratification… aka do you already have a strong social media presence! By strong I mean do you already have hundreds of thousands if not millions of followers and engagements already!!! In reality though most of our favorite artist on the radio started as writers for years and are coming from publishing companies not labels.
So what advice would I give for what it’s worth… WRITE! Write everyday, co-write with others. Networking with writers is everything. Don’t be afraid to let other artist record your songs, don’t let wanting to be the star behind every song hold you back. This is a numbers game, you want as many people as possible to hear your work regardless if it’s you or someone else performing it.
SO START WRITING!!! Then come record it with us!!! 😅😆

We’re are very excited to let everyone hear another project the studio just wrapped up. At the end of October we teamed up Riley Tafaro on producing her Christmas Album….8 songs, learn the material, rearrange, record from the ground up, mix and master….in just under 6 weeks was our deadline. We accepted this challenge and are thrilled with the results.
