Find Your Ideal Audience on Social Media
How do you decide which platforms to be on when it comes to social media for your business?
Honestly... you have to do your research. Before you ever decide which platforms to be on, you must fully understand who your target customers are, what they want/need, where they spend their time, which platforms they use for researching products/services, etc.
Once you have that figured out, take that information and see how it aligns with each platform. Also consider how much time you have to dedicate toward making content for the platforms or if you are willing and able to invest in help with managing your social media accounts. Many platforms are leaning towards video, especially short-form video. Video is much more time consuming that photos or graphics.
We'd suggest starting with two platforms and see how those do after staying consistent for a few months. Use that data to learn from your audience and understand what they like and respond to. If you get a ton of likes and comments on REELs but not on graphics, update your strategy to use primarily video content and possibly consider cross posting those videos to other platforms, such as YouTube, if applicable to your business.
Content Pillars for Social Media Success
One thing that makes batching content creation easier is the use of Content Pillars.
Content Pillars should be decided based on your target audience and marketing strategy. Content Pillars simplify the process of creating content by having set boundaries to stay within and a structured schedule for when to post each type of content.
Not having content pillars in place is like an author walking up to a blank piece of paper without any forethought as to what they'll write about. The first draft might be spot on, or it could take hundreds of attempts to come up with a decent idea. Writers typically outline what they write about before starting to write the first chapter. It's the same with using content pillars to guide the content for your business's social media accounts.
Don't forget to actually engage with the audience you've worked so hard to grow!

2024 isn’t quite over but it’s definitely winding down and we’re ready for a recap.
This was a learning year for Ollie Kat Design (we’ll probably say that every year…because it’s true.)
In 2024 we:
• Worked on documenting and streamlining processes
• Tested new software to best serve clients
• Downsized from our dream office back to WFH (because it just made sense)
• Narrowed down offerings to simplify our services and become more efficient
• Celebrated 4 years in business this month
• Brought on new design and social media clients while having zero churn!!! ❤️❤️❤️
What we plan to do in 2025:
• Continue to serve our clients to ensure continued success in our initiatives
• Focus on supporting new clients through Brand and Social Marketing
• Add to our team!!!
• Work on our brand to build recognition and relationships in our service area
We’ll be sharing our 2025 business and marketing strategy soon so stay tuned! We’d love to help you in the coming year!
