Oklahoma City contractor charged with more than $39,000 in fraud
in Comanche, Pottawatomie, Grady counties

OKLAHOMA CITY (Aug. 27, 2024) – The Office of the Attorney General has charged an Oklahoma City man with defrauding clients out of more than $39,000 for construction work that was never done.
Prosecutors allege Paris Bilbro 29, contracted with customers in Lawton, McLoud and Tuttle for roof repairs over a two-month period last year. His company, AMG Construction Group, failed to do any of the work it was contracted to complete. Bilbro never refunded the money.

Attorney General Gentner Drummond said his office has no tolerance for consumer fraud.
“The attorneys, investigators and support staff of the Consumer Protection Unit of the Attorney General’s Office do an outstanding job ensuring justice for Oklahomans who have been cheated by unscrupulous actors,” he said. “This case starkly illustrates why consumers should always be cautious upon entering into a contract.”
Bilbro faces three counts of embezzlement and one count of a pattern of criminal offenses.
Any individual who believes he or she has been defrauded by the defendant in this case is urged to contact the Consumer Protection Unit of the Attorney General’s Office at (405) 521-2029 or via email at [email protected].
Every person arrested or indicted is presumed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.

Sheriff Boggess says look out for this scam

This week starts the second week of Jury term here in Grady County. Unfortunately, there is a phone scam currently going on telling people they failed to show for jury duty. Do not believe this and give no information or payment to those calling. The Grady County Sheriff's Office will not call to tell you that you have a warrant for failing to appear for jury duty, and we will never ask for personal information or payment over the phone. If you receive a call like this simply hang up on the caller.

Sheriff Gary Boggess
