Tuttle’s own Lonnie Paxton has announced he will be running for re-election to represent the 23rd Senate District.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SENATOR LONNIE PAXTON ANNOUNCES REELECTION BID
November 12, 2019
Tuttle, OK -
Senator Lonnie Paxton (R-Tuttle) has announced that he will seek reelection for Oklahoma Senate District 23. Governor Kevin Stitt and over 200 supporters joined Senator Paxton at an event last week to kick off the 2020 reelection campaign.
Paxton, a small business owner and rancher, is proud of the strides Oklahoma made in the last three years. “The citizens of this district elected me to go to the State Capitol to solve problems, not make new ones. I’m proud of what we have accomplished together as Oklahomans.”
During his first term, Paxton championed for stronger schools, government accountability, and economic development. He supported the historic teacher pay raise, which has helped retain quality teachers across the state. He was proud to vote for the creation of the Legislative Office of Fiscal Transparency to oversee state government spending on behalf of Oklahoma taxpayers. Paxton also authored legislation to authorize the creation of the industrial h**p industry, which has the potential to dramatically diversify the state’s economy, particularly in rural areas.
“I share the conservative values that are part of the fabric of this district,” Paxton said. “Our economy is booming, and I’m seeking another term as senator to make sure government bureaucracy stays out of the way of the private sector doing what it does best: creating jobs and opportunity.”
Paxton also is working to make progress on meaningful education reform, reducing Oklahoma’s incarcerated population, and finding conservative, market-based solutions to address the state’s healthcare needs.
Born in Chickasha and raised on his family’s farm in Tuttle, his roots in the district run deep. He is a fifth-generation Oklahoman and has spent his life dedicated to his faith, family, and community. Senator Paxton is a graduate of Tuttle High School and the University of Oklahoma.
Paxton has operated an insurance agency in downtown Tuttle for the last 23 years and owns and operates a property company, which has renovated several historically significant and high profile buildings. He also farms and raises cattle on land that has been in his family since before statehood.
He has served the community as a volunteer firefighter, mayor and city councilman. Paxton served on the Grady County Memorial Hospital board of directors, and is a former president of the Tuttle Chamber of Commerce. He served as chairman of the Grady County Republican Party from 1993 to 1995.
Senator Paxton and his wife, Misti, have been married 28 years. They have four children: Seth, Addison, Ethan, and Lillie-Beth. Mrs. Paxton is a second grade schoolteacher at Tuttle Public Schools. Senator Paxton and his family are members of Tuttle United Methodist Church.

So far, the answer we have received is during the mid-80s when Tuttle aligned with the 911 system.
