𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙏𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙞𝙣 𝙀𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩.

Taking place virtually, the Turpin Esports🕹️team had a “Single Elimination” Tournament yesterday. Starting at 4:00 pm, the Cardinals, sitting in the 15th seed in the tournament, competed against the 18th ranked Seminole Chieftains. While playing the game 𝚂𝚞𝚙𝚎𝚛 𝚂𝚖𝚊𝚜𝚑 𝙱𝚛𝚘𝚜., the Cardinals took the win against the Chieftains for the first round of the tournament.

Teams that Turpin has played against and won previously are: Guthrie 3 - 1, Caney Valley 3 - 0, Anadarko 3 - 0, Foyil 3 - 1, and Tecumseh 3 - 1. They also finished the regular season 6 - 2 and were 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝟏𝟔𝐭𝐡!

Starting out with a win, we hope they continue their winning streak throughout the whole tournament!

Always Earned, Never Given!

Post-season awards have been announced for the Cardinal Football Team.

With the season ending, All-District and All-State selections have finally been announced. The head coaches from every team in the district meet and vote on who they think should be on the teams. Turpin this year had many All-District selections: Co-Defensive Player of the Year - Carson Hendrich, Quarterback - Carson Peters, Running Back - Jhett Huffman, Split End - Nash Levens, Offensive Linemen - Ricky Olguin, Defensive Line - Ryan Hammock, Gunner Post, Ryder Ireland, Linebacker - Riley Fowler, Defensive Back - Austyn Peters, Honorable Mention - Garrett Isaacs. The All-State selections from Turpin are Ryan Hammock and Carson Hendrich, and the alternate is Gunner Post. They will play in the Oklahoma 8-Man All-Star game this June. Coach Hannah will be coaching the All-Star game. Congratulations to everyone!🎉

𝓛𝓲𝓿𝓮, 𝓵𝓸𝓿𝓮, 𝓼𝓲𝓷𝓰🎶

𝕮𝖆𝖗𝖉𝖎𝖓𝖆𝖑𝖘 𝖖𝖚𝖆𝖑𝖎𝖋𝖞 𝖋𝖔𝖗 𝕬𝖑𝖑-𝕾𝖙𝖆𝖙𝖊 𝕮𝖍𝖔𝖎𝖗 𝖎𝖓 𝕵𝖆𝖓𝖚𝖆𝖗𝖞.

This past Monday, two of our high school students auditioned at Rose State College for the All-State Choir. Both freshmen, Ella Buller and Zoey Archer qualified 🏆for All-State with Ella qualifying for the Treble Choir and Zoey qualifying for the Mixed Choir. Both students are thoroughly looking forward to the trip to Oklahoma City where they will perform among the best of the best in the state at the OKC Convention Center in January. Congratulations to these two Cardinals and good luck at All-State!

The Turpin high school Quiz Bowl team competed in Ho**er, OK yesterday. They won all 4 matches they competed in and walked away as the Ho**er Quiz Bowl Meet Champions🥇!

This morning, our junior high quiz bowl team competed in Laverne for their first Quiz Bowl meet this season. They ended up winning one match and unfortunately lost two matches.

Leadership at its Best!

StuCo takes on the OASC State Convention.

On November 11th, the Turpin Student Council headed to Owasso for the State StuCo Convention. The whole weekend is jam packed with a ton of new leadership opportunities and ideas to bring back home to your school. There were guest speakers like Kevin Hawkins, Aaron Davis, and Generation Why, that spoke about how to better not only others but yourself as well. There were also numerous different break out sessions that ranged from how to make your own student council better to how to grow as a leader yourself. Now only that, to end both nights there were student mixers so you could mingle and make new friends with other schools. The first night was casino themed with multiple different card games set up throughout the school and fun outside games setup as well. The second night was held at Incredible Pizza which was a ton of arcade games, indoor roller coasters, bumper cars, go karts, and a trampoline park, and students were allowed to roam freely and do whatever they wanted for the night. On Monday, the new state officers are announced: President - Fairview, Vice President - Alva, and Secretary - Bartlesville.

ℍ𝕦𝕤𝕥𝕝𝕖 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕙𝕖𝕒𝕣𝕥 𝕤𝕖𝕥 𝕦𝕤 𝕒𝕡𝕒𝕣𝕥🏆

𝙲𝚊𝚛𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚊𝚕𝚜 𝚍𝚘𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚊𝚝𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚏𝚒𝚎𝚕𝚍

The Turpin Football Team hosted the first round of playoffs on November 10th at The Dan Duerson Memorial Field against Pond Creek-Hunter. The Cardinals came out blazing, jumping up to a 38 - 0 lead at halftime. The team and community was very excited to host playoffs. The Cardinal defense played very well and junior, Carson Peters, had two interceptions and senior, Nash Levens, had one and senior, Carson Hendrich, had a 60 yard pick 6🏈. The final score for the game was 52 - 6. They will play at Seiling on November 17th for the second round of playoffs.

𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝!🥉

𝙲𝚊𝚛𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚊𝚕 𝙲𝚑𝚎𝚎𝚛 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚜 𝚋𝚊𝚌𝚔 𝚏𝚛𝚘𝚖 𝚙𝚕𝚊𝚌𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝟷𝟹𝚝𝚑 𝚝𝚘 𝚋𝚎𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚝𝚘𝚙 𝚒𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚝𝚎.📣

After qualifying last weekend, November 4th, at the regional meet, the Turpin High School cheer team advanced to compete in the Gameday State Championship and drove 217 miles to Moore, Oklahoma. They competed at 10:05 a.m. and were one of the final teams to compete in prelims. They all grabbed hands and waited nervously for the finalists to be announced. When Turpin’s name was the last one called for finalists, the entire team exploded with excitement and pride. They quickly gathered themselves together, as they had one final chance to compete. They headed back to the warm-up rooms and prepared for the finals. They competed one last time with the support of all of their fans, who traveled to cheer them all on.They gave their greatest performance yet and received 259 points for their final effort. This earned them 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 in the Oklahoma 2A cheer! This team went from placing 13th in the regional competition to 3rd in the state. Congratulations, Turpin Cheer!

𝙏𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙞𝙣 𝙋𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙘 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙨 𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 2023 𝙑𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝘿𝙖𝙮 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢!

This morning, the Veterans Day Program took place in the auditorium at the Turpin High School. Before the program began, Turpin’s Student Council hosted a breakfast for our invited Veterans that were able to attend. Immediately following breakfast was the Veterans Day Assembly at 9:00 am. Lonny Bailey was the guest speaker and shared some amazing and inspiring stories about our local veterans. Along with announcing the Veterans Day poster and poem winners, the third and fourth grade performed “You're A Grand Old Flag,” the high school choir sang the "National Anthem," and the high school band performed the "Armed Forces Melody" with senior Jaret Hogg playing Taps.
