They call me Helen Doe. I died in a semi tractor-trailer collision on I-5 near Kalama, Wash. on May 14, 1991. I was severely burned when the semi I was riding in rear-ended another semi that was stopped in traffic.
I was a young Native woman from 20 to 29 years old, weighed between 110 and 130 pounds, was 5 feet 1 inch to 5 feet 4 inches tall, had a small gap between my two lower front teeth and probably walked with a limp, because I had severe scoliosis.
They call me Helen Doe, but they want to give me my name back. Early in the Washington State Patrol investigation, rumors were that I was a woman who disappeared in Cowlitz County in May 1991, or a woman who went missing in British Columbia or North Dakota.
Please share so I can be identified and the Cowlitz County coroner can return me to my family. If you have information, please call the State Patrol’s cold case team at 425-401-7740 or email [email protected]. Forensic sketch by Natalie Murry.
