Anyone remember the sad clearance mystery pothos? She’s really taken off over the last few months and was drooping under her own weight. She was also just generally in the way as she brushed the kitchen counter 😂 let’s see how she continues to grow with some new support in a new but similarly lit room. In 2017, my grandmother handed off her very last project to me. She’d been working hard on it, but she got too sick to continue. She told me to finish it and gift it to its recipient at any time. It took me 5 years to even open the neatly wrapped bags and take a peak at it.

The thing is, this is the last quilt my grandma made. It’s my youngest brother’s quilt. My grandma would have gifted this to him and his bride were she here, but she couldn’t make it. She was so close to finishing it too, it only took me two hours to finish the binding.

I am forever grateful to have shared my grandma with my siblings and all my cousins. I’m forever grateful for everything she taught me. I hope I can carry just a small bit of her energy with me forever and pass it along, because that’s the kind of love you don’t ever want to lose.

Every day I’m in my cottage, I find myself marveling at how much I’m enjoying being in a SMALLER space. Downsizing is feeling on so many levels, some I’d considered and some I hadn’t. My cleaning routine? I can clean this entire house in a quarter of the time it took to clean a room before. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every step of creating this floor 😍 I’m slowly working on adding the color base coat to each flower. They’ll each get a couple coats, and the white will get a couple coats of Pearl white, and lastly the gray in the “grout lines” before I seal everything. I’m so excited to see the end result, but it’ll be a bit before we get there.
