Hope you all are having a great memorial day, spending time to remember those who are no longer with us. After 8 years, I have been blessed more than others to not have lost anyone due to the struggles of combat, whether external or internal. But I do spend this day thinking about someone who helped inspire me to join the military. Someone who didn't lose his life in war, or to the war within, but to unfortunate circumstances.

Alec Norcom, I met while I was in Tech school to be a surgical technician. He was always kind, respectful and respectable. He was sometimes like a big brother which after having served I understand why. He never turned down my young, inexperienced questions about his time in the military. My favorite being about how when he was in Iraq the first time, he had gone on a long mission away from his FOB and came back after a month or so. He said he thought he had gotten tan until he went to shower and realized it was weeks of accumulated dirt and grime. He would tell me how much it sucked, and how rewarding it could be being in the army. And I guess it stuck with me because I always thought about him throughout my career. I wish I could've known you better. I had always hoped that one day I could come back home and share my stories with you. That you'd shake your head at me for choosing to be a scout and we'd have a laugh and a drink. Call me dumb for not finishing my school and joining the army in the first place. We may not have gotten to be friends long but you had a significant impact in my life and I wish you were here man.

I hope that those of you who do have someone you miss, you continue to live everyday that they no longer can and remember them today and live how they would want you to live.

Busy month my apologies. Still coming up with material and hopefully having some old and new guests on again in the near future. But I have decided to get started on some stuff for you guys to eventually one day displayed as a token of gratitude for your support. I genuinely love painting and finally got around to priming some little army figures! All will be meticulously hand painted. Sorry for no new episodes this week and next week. Currently working hard at my new job and spending this weekend with one of the bois for a well deserved 4 day vacation. But have been working on some side stuff for the next phase of the podcast and where I want it to go. We'll have a twitch channel set up soon, possible patreon still in the works, and hopefully when I'm back from vacation, I can see into recruiting some people in my area for some new entertainment content. Sorry guys, and gals, just busy month. Dont forget to tell your buddies about the podcast though, listen to some old stuff you loved listening to, and before you know it, new content will be out.

Tomorrow, dropping at about 0900 CST, part 1 of JRTC. Joining in for the episode, we got a 3-way call with ol Papa Bear Base and C-Way. By far the most ive laughed during an episode to date. And keep in mind, we only covered maybe the first week and a half of the 3-4 weeks of JRTC. So much to hear about. Longest episode by far, at least 2 hours. Have a good listen when it drops 16JAN at 0900!
