A harsh truth is in the end we really only have ourselves to rely on, no one is going to value your dreams like you, no one is going to like the movies “believe in you” when you have doubt. Most change the narrative to fit the person and what you do for them means nothing. Your vulnerability becomes gossip, your victories become ego, and most are terrified to fully bet on you in any capacity.

This is why you must be obsessed with what you do for your purpose in life, the road gets more lonely the higher up the mountain you go and whether by death or deception everyone is temporary.

An old man on Uber told me one night, “every friend I have ever made is gone, the good ones died and the bad ones left. The family I made is all that’s left and that’s all I need.” The older I get the more that makes sense and the reason why my kids get my undivided attention off camera and off the road.

When you realize you don’t love someone anymore it doesn’t mean you dislike or despise them. To be honest you could even care about them.

To fall out of love with someone means you no longer know them and they no longer know you, in many cases you haven’t spoken in years, meaning your love for them is now a love for a memory.

It means you can always cherish the good you had with them, the special memories, and also the lessons learned from the bad.

To always love someone means I’ll always cherish the good and learn from the bad, it means they made you a better person, maybe they hurt you,

Maybe that broken heart made you overhaul your identity, your look, personality, bringing out the real you, or maybe that broken heart lit a fire in your ass and you took your career to heights you never thought possible.

That’s my theory on what it means to no longer be in love but you will always love them.
