Once upon a time in Mexico City “area”. I hope to be able to travel there again. It felt like I was connected just being there. As a Mexican-American, I identify as American, primarily, because that is where I was born and raised. However, I don’t deny my heritage either and I acknowledge that sometimes growing up I felt lost. I was too “American” when going to Mexico, but too “Mexican” here. Traveling to Mexico City felt the most connected to the history of my ancestors that I’ve ever experienced.

These photos are from Once upon a time… in Utah. On a trip for dance. I did more than just work back then. I’ve been working hard at getting back to being that person. I liked her more. It took time to get to know here and love her. COVID hit and I went back to being “work”. And that is not who I want to be.
