Calvana - III┼ is OUT NOW on LP and cassette!!

Calvana deliver a raw, aggressive black metal sound straight out of the dark corners of Italy. This is aggressive, but at times haunting, triumphant and even Earthly. This is far more dynamic and well written than their debut. Definitely for fans of Marduk, Dark Funeral, Watain, Behexen, but I think this release does enough to separate itself from those bands and become its own entity.

If you’re a fan of fast, riffy aggressive black metal that’s far more than just blasting, this is a record to check out.

Finally some definitive news on the vinyl and cassette release of Calvana’s sophomore album “III┼”!!!! I can’t wait to get this Italian black metal album out to more people. Cold, yet there’s a brutality and a fire in their sound. Not to be missed.

Vinyl will be shipping early next week, and should be in hand late next week. These come on black vinyl with an insert and are limited to 200 copies.

The cassette version is already in hand and will go on sale when the vinyl goes up. Cassettes are limited to 100 copies.

Next up I wanted to highlight the bands from Mexico that ABM has worked with. I’ve always loved the music scene in Mexico and the bands it produces. While ABM will be bringing far more Mexican metal to you in the future, these 4 releases are by absolutely excellent bands you should check out!!

Cathartic - Ceremonial Resurrection. On their debut EP Cathartic unleash a chainsaw HM2 attack with a breath of creativity and fantastic riff writing. This EP is a violent blast from start to finish.

Opposite Devotion - Hesperus Phosphorus. A monster of an album. Opposite Devotion unleash a black/death assault that crushes everything in its path. It’s violent, dark, evil sounding and still catchy. Not to mention the art is breathtaking all throughout the gatefold vinyl. This is not to be overlooked.

Undertomb - The Returns of Fallen. Similarly to Cathartic, Undertomb unleash an HM2 assault on their debut EP, but I feel like Undertomb take things up a notch in the speed and grime department. This one drips of old school filth.

Katrinaz - Hateful Reflections. An EP cassette release, Katrinaz unleashes a frantic death metal EP with a bit of thrash thrown in. This is a ridiculously good EP and fans of early Death and Morbid Angel will love this.

Here’s a spotlight on ABM’s small but punishing output from Türkiye:

Archurahl released their EP “Albtraum” and it is exactly what the name implies, Nightmare. Algroth created a raw, harsh and nightmarish EP with well crafted but blistering songs. The wailing throat ripping vocals are the icing on the cake, a nightmare indeed.

Azzaya - Thy Satanick Ascension
While technically an international group spanning from Türkiye to Greece to Portugal, it seemed at that time Azzaya was mainly based out of the former, so I’m rolling with that. Azzaya’s debut is punishing, no thrills satanic ferocity. Some may tire of this style of music, but I certainly enjoy music that comes at me like an unwavering blast of hellfire. Bare bones black metal for savages.

The New Chapter of USBM!

I’m extremely proud of ABM’s USBM output so far. We’ve worked with some truly awesome artists and bands and if you’re not familiar with them, you should get familiar.

The one thing I’ve always loved about metal, regardless of genre, was the scope that it had; something could be atmospheric, another fast and raw and another technical and it was all under the same genre. That’s something I aim to continue with at ABM.

Whether it’s the rawness and tenacity of and Isataii or the dense hauntings and humid soundscapes of to the mysterious, raw yet melodic tinged and or even the cinematic compositions assembles I feel like there is a huge catalog of awesome releases here at Adirondack Black Mass to sink your teeth into.

I hope you find something to enjoy, and if you do, pick up a copy so that I can continue to bring forth more USBM to deafen your ears.
