Had a great time over at Topeka ER creating this image spot for them. They have so many high-tech hospital-thingies in that building... and it's all conveniently right there next to West Ridge. Check out the spot!

Roll Up Your Sleeves, Kansas!
Pandemic Paradox - Director's Cut
This film was made in 48 hours, June 5th - 7th 2020, as part of the 48-Hour Global Film Challenge. This a worldwide film competition where filmmakers are given a set of criteria to make a film. This event was held virtually due to the lockdown during the early months of the Coronoavirus Pandemic.
Some things to note: This film was shot entirely with a single camera. When creating a split screen effect, the camera needs to be in the exact same position for both sides or the middle will not line up with each other. I shot all "Original Tom" parts first - from BOTH sides, then repositioned the camera in all of the same angles for all of the "Future Tom" parts, from both sides. While I could have simply changed clothes back and forth, keeping the camera in one spot for each scene, I felt it was much more of challenge to shoot it this way, so that way, if you notice, "Orginal Tom" is unshaved, while "Future Tom" is clean shaven, giving more of a feeling that some time has passed between them. The nod is given to Mark Ruffalo, who lost 20 pounds between shooting each side of a set of twins in the HBO series, "I Know This Much Is True."
The film was intended to be entered into the Kansas City Area group for the initial rounds of the competition, but the website said that that group was full - the maximum per city was 25 teams. I later found out there was only 5-6 KC teams and the website had glitched. We were instead put into a "wild card group" of 52 teams worldwide. I would have much rather had the 1 out of 6 odds, rather than 1 out of 52... as this film did not make it past the first round of judging.
As for the criteria, Berkeley Square received the following:
Prop - A belt
Character - Former basball player named Tom Baddington
Line of dialogue: "Take what you want, but leave me some."
Genre - Time Travel.
In this Director's Cut, a few very unnatural lines of dialogue have been cut that talked about Tom's past career in baseball.
