Ladies, it looks like you have more in common with your ancient ancestors than you may realize. In a cave in Ulm, Germany, archaeologists found what they believe to be the world"s first ever adult toy, at almost 28,000 years old. Known as the "Hohle Fels phallus", this siltstone phallus is 20 cm (7.8 in) and incredibly smooth despite the intense physical lovin" it likely received. It is also thought to have been used not for pleasure related purposes, but as a fertility idol.

Team of archaeologists reveal Roman sanctuary in ancient Doliche.
Last summer, archaeologists from the University of Mรผnster discovered a previously unknown sanctuary from the Roman era during excavation work in the ancient town of Doliche in south-eastern Turkey. Over a period of nine weeks, the team headed by Prof. Engelbert Winter and Prof. Michael Blรถmer from the Asia Minor Research Centre -uncovered parts of a large temple notable not only for its size but also for its unusual form. The find is of great importance for understanding the development of temple architecture in antiquity in the MiddleEast.
Before excavation work began, there was little to indicate the existence of a large ancient building on this site. There were no traces of antique architecture recognizable on the gently sloping, vine-covered field. Even before the campaign started, however, measurements taken by means of ground pe*******on radar - which makes subterranean structures visible had provided indications of sections of wall hidden below the surface. Their dimensions also revealed that they were part of the public space in the ancient town. Excavations confirmed the researchers" suspicions.

Polish archaeologists uncover astronomical petroglyphs dating back to the 3rd century in Colorado.
A team of researchers from Jagiellonian University in Krakรณw, southern Poland, has unveiled remarkable findings in the Castle Rock Pueblo settlement complex, situated on the picturesque Mesa Verde plateau along the Colorado-Utah border.
Over a decade of exploration in this region has brought to light extensive petroglyphs and carvings that reshape our understanding of the ancient Pueblo culture that thrived in the area for nearly 3,000 years.
The team"s discoveries, particularly in the higher and less accessible parts of Sand Canyon, Graveyard Canyon, and Rock Creek Canyon, have exceeded expectations, revealing previously unknown petroglyphs dating back to the 3rd century CE, during the Basketmaker Era.

The ancient Chinese funeral procession entombed for 2,400 years: Remains of more than 100 horses and four chariots found in a burial tomb honouring feudal lord and his wife.
A 2,400-year-old pit containing the remains of horses and chariots believed to belong to a member of an ancient royal household has been uncovered in China.
The pit is one of a cluster of tombs thought to hold the remains of noble families of the Zheng State, who ruled the region intermittently between 770 and 221 BC.
Excavation of the surrounding land has already found 18 large pits containing horses and chariots and more than 3,000 tombs.

Inscribed VIP Seats Unearthed at Roman Amphitheater in Turkey.
Archaeologists discovered private seating areas with names engraved on them during excavation at a 1,800-year-old amphitheater in the ancient city of Pergamon in Turkey"s western Izmir province. It could seat up to 50,000 people.
Among those seats were at least five VIP boxes featuring engraved names. Archaeologists found the word Lukios (the Greek version of the Latin Lucius) and other names engraved on special stone seating in this amphitheater, which was designed to look like Rome"s Colosseum.
Pergamon hosted gladiator and animal fights in the second century CE. The amphitheater was probably also used for public executions and reenactments of naval battles, as it was located on a waterway.
