1/8/25: Update from Nutmeg's mama: Sorry Everyone, I have been out most of the day trying to track Nutmeg! Here is the 01/07 Update!
Started out at 6:30 Am with Skyview Thermal Drone Service. We had the drone up in the air for 4 hours, spanning 1200 acres with no sightings😔
Still no sightings but earlier today we found paw prints and snags of fuzz from one of her jackets. It also looks like she hunkered down in a barn overnight last night. It was in the vicinity of where she pinged at 2:30 AM.
I bought and set out 2 game cameras that run off cell service so I will get notifications if anything is spotted. I set one up towards the stall where it looked like she slept last night. I also set up some stinky food (tuna, pedigree gravy food, liverwurst, and hotdogs) there and some liquid smoke. I set another camera up that overlooks a big field behind the barn where we found more prints.
Tonight, I went out with a neighbor and we found more prints that if they are hers, look like she ran straight from the back of my house and down through the woods along 522.
I will continue to grill stinky meat on the grill tonight to still encourage her home. I will stay up watching and waiting fire her to come home!
Tomorrow, I will go back to the areas where we spotted paw prints this morning. See if there are any other signs of her there. Please continue to send in any possible sightings of paw prints or her. Anything helps!!!
