Gail was a long time contributor to ensuring success with the BVFC. Gail spent many years helping her community. She fought a hard battle against her illness. Starting his journey with on May 19, 2001, Battalion Chief Barnes has served in many vital roles across our department, leaving an indelible mark at stations including Thurmont, Westview, Junior Fire Company, and Libertytown. Throughout his career, he has held numerous leadership positions:

Today’s a very special day for our Fire and Rescue family! After an extensive recovery, Firefighter Allison Orlowski has returned to the field and rejoined her crew, assigned to Engine 611 (Sterling Park)! Firefighter Orlowski sustained significant injuries during the February 16, 2024, catastrophic home explosion on Silver Ridge Drive in Sterling that took the life of fellow firefighter Trevor Brown and injured several others.
