Save the date for the inaugural C.A.S.T. for Kids Chatfield Reservoir, a boating and fishing event for children with special needs coming to the Denver Metro area. 🎣

The year’s event, held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, is put on by CAST for Kids Foundation with the Daniels Bros. Memorial Fund and presented by Pacific Seafood. The event is open to all children, ages six through 18, no matter their disability. Participants must pre-register online, the space is limited to the first 40 children who register.

Registration for participants and volunteers opens on May 1 at castforkids.org/event/chatfieldreservoir.

The U.S. Coast Guard treats every distress call and report of an unmanned paddle craft as if a real life is at stake.

Take responsibility for your paddle craft by labeling with an “If Found” sticker. This label allows first responders to confirm if someone is in trouble and collect vital information to help search and rescue efforts.

Reports of unmanned and adrift paddle craft divert federal, state and local resources on hundreds of dangerous and costly searches that turn out to be false alarms.

Good looking fish coming out of Lake Dillon from Alpine Fishing Adventures

Lake Dillon is home to some of the wildest nicest brown trout In the state. The larger older fish are fewer, and real smart and hard to trick. Its always fun to get one of these beauties on the line. They normally always put up a heck of a fight!

I believe Safety is a huge part of enjoying the outdoors. I have been a fan of Claytons videos for sometime now he’s the best content creator in the fishing/outdoor business. Ice fishing in shelters with a heater can make a trip more comfortable which will be more enjoyable for some, but not a lot is talked about in the dangers of running a propane heater in a shelter. Just give it another week. No reason to go swimming

Winter's most definitely here, but don't flock out onto the ice just yet!
We're still not getting good readings (ranging between 2-3" in the good patches), but should improve greatly this week, maybe enough to fish by New Year's Day.
There's not any open water, this photo was just necessary for the bad goose pun.
