Day 7 - ATV’s through the mountains. Well the day started out great with an amazing breakfast at Parador Resort and Spa as usual! FYI I found out it was included in the price of the room so I decided to stop being shy and really started eating my fill. With the governor HumDog put on my eating I figured at least I wouldn’t starve in the morning like I had been. So after a stack of waffles, a plate of eggs and sausage, 2 custom omelets, 3 Bowls of cereal, some yogurt (because I’m watching my weight) and a tower of fruit I finally felt like I had a full belly. And of course HumDog started some mess with the nice staff at Parador and they called him Pedro and complained about his eating habits or something! I don’t speak Spanish so who knows. He is a grumpy butt so that’s probably the problem. Anyway we then waited for the the A-tv Team who picked us up and took us to their office where they made HumDog sign something in case he crashed or let the dog drive. When that boring stuff was over we headed to the A-tv Team camp, hopped on our ATV’s and headed off for adventure….and then it happened! The most horrific thing that anyone could ever imagine from the darkest and twisted area of their brain!! It rained! The horror! I started frea…..I mean HumDog started freaking out and was howling and whining! I had to calm him down because he was hyper-spacing and I hear that’s not good at all! We finally stopped off at a mountainside cafe and grabbed a few drinks while I cal….HumDog calmed down. What a baby!! Anyway we hopped back on and it just started pouring so hard it felt like needles hitting your body that I wanted to cur…I mean HumDog started curling up in a ball! What a drama dog!! We finally made it back to camp after that blood chilling experience where they fed us Arose con Poboy which I I love. After drying up a bit we headed out…we’ll not after Julie realized she forgot her sunglasses on the ATV and made HumDog run back to the ATV barn and get soaked all over again. He was not happy but we all laughed because, well it’s what we do! We then got back to the resort for a relaxing evening of dinner, drinks and dancing! Lol. Kidding. I don’t dance! And that was the end of the worst day ever in Costa Rica…..uh…according to HumDog…I had fun. End day 7

Day 6 - Today we went Jet Skiing. HumDog whined about not getting to relax so Julie gave him the late morning to hang by the pool and have a few Pina Coladas to shut his trap. We got picked up at the hotel where we headed to the port in Quepos and headed off on jet skis! I met a new friend Iggy who really likes to be scratched under his neck! Trust me I love that as well. We then headed to the dock where we met the Jet Ski dude! Well I guess I thought I was going to get pulled by one of the SeaDoos in my float but that was poo pooed, probably by HumDog. As we dooed as the SeaDoos do (see what I did there?), we traded out partners and jet skis, which landed HumDog with me. After an argument with HumDog about who was driving and some scolding by Julie to be nice because I’m just a baby, we headed back out. Yep I drove! Bumberto kept complaining that I was “going to fast” and to “slowdown” and something about flying off…and he fell off. It was hilarious until I heard him scream about his shoulder which was actually not good. Hunter had to pick him up and get him on his jet ski because I couldn’t seem to get back to him…well because I’m a dog and I can’t drive and you have to be a real moron to let me drive! But we are talking about DumbDog so he kind of did it to himself. Anyway Julie drove me the rest of the way and lo and behold no accidents…because she can drive and HumDog obviously has very poor judgement. After 3 hours and more Humberto tears we headed back to the hotel for a yummy dinner, some patio music and bed.

Day 5 (Part 2) - Driving from the La Fortuna to Quepos (Parador Resort and Spa). After the hanging bridges and wild animals we prepared for our 5 hour drive from Arenal Volcano to Quepos and the Pardor resort. Well after an hour or so of driving in mountains and twists and turns, HumDog started feelin yucky so Julie took over! What a mistake! Julie drove the rental suv like it was a rental and after 4 hours of white knuckles we made it to the Parador resort. After we all hit the ground kissing it, we checked in and headed to dinner which we were all starved. All I could think about was Seabass and I was not disappointed. I tried to order two, but Humberto Ramirez said no and Julie told him to not be cheap! So I enjoyed my double Seabass and HumDog ate the veggies I was not interested in. After dinner we headed to bed to get ready for some fun in the Pacific.

Day 5 (Part1) - Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges. We packed up this morning and checked out of The Lost Iguana Resort which we highly recommend! We then drove a few kilometers (that’s metric) to the Mistico Hanging Bridges and Park. Basically it’s a couple mile hike through the rainforest trails and hanging bridges! Humberto Ramirez (HumDog) told me to not touch anything because it’s probably either poisonous or venomous. Like I’m going to do something so childish! I’m almost 4 years old! Basically older than Hunter. Julie checked us in and off we went. The first thing we saw was HumDog trembling in fear crossing the first hanging bridge! Just for fun I acted like I was slipping and losing my balance which scared HumDog to death! It was so much fun! We saw some baby tarantulas and a really cool looking frog. I promised I wasn’t going to touch it but HumDog said nothing about licking it! Before I could Julie yelled to not lick it because it was a Poison Fart Frog and it could make me very sick. Basically HumDog left that information out! Go figure!! Anyway after his plan was thwarted we continued on where I saw a fleur-de-lis viper, some flying monkeys, a river crab and a few other wildlife. About halfway through HumDog was pretty much done so I figured his dying of boredom was enough for today. We loaded up and headed to Manuel Antonio National Park.

Day 4 - Three Thrill-seekers and a Baby - Today was the day I have been waiting for! It was the day HumDog was going to get his comeuppance! I was so excited I woke up early, got dressed took my obligatory selfie in front of the volcano and I devoured a plate of Pancakes, Arose con poboy (tasted like chicken and rice), 2 cups of coffee and when the rest of the family showed up I finally had some breakfast. We then got our stuff and drove into town to catch the HumDog Pays tour (also known as canyoning). Actually it’s really jumping down a waterfall with a rope tied to straps around your waist. They call it Rappelling…I call it “payback”! Anyway, HumDog tried to act really cool but we all knew he was as scared as a trapped fly in a spiderweb! We decided to grab a bite of food and Hunter and I shared a Pizza while HumDog was curled up in a ball under the table. When we finished we headed to our meeting point where we were picked up by a nice tour guide who fed us more (thank goodness since Hunter ate almost half of our pizza) and put us on 2 or 5 more transports. We may have been smuggled up the mountain now that I think about it. When we finally arrived at the waterfalls HumDog had to be bribed off the truck. After his tears cleared up we listened to the guide blab for what felt like an hour. When we finally headed to the first drop Julie Booth got strapped in jumped off the platform with a loud yeehaw. Hunter was next with a loud woo and then me with a dignified howl. When Humberto Ramirez time came I could have sworn I heard him begging to go back but they pushed him off and we were in full adrenaline mode. 1 glorious hour and at least a bucket of HumDog tears later we were done! We took some pictures and I took a few great ones myself. We went to grab some dinner, which Hunter hogged up and we headed back to the resort for some rest and our last night at the Lost Iguana Resort. End day 4

Day 3 - Exploring and Sloth Tour - We woke up early to go grab a nice big breakfast. When we walked out of our room we came across a funny looking critter. Julie said it was called Cody, but I’m pretty sure it was RacoonMonkeyVark (it’s native to Costa Rica, but they don’t acknowledge it so don’t try looking it up). After checking it out for a bit I thought it would be a great idea to pet it. What could go wrong? After a bit of a kerfufal and some name calling Hunter had to drag me away before I got real all upside him. Still upset I realized I was starving from not being fed enough the night before…not to mention a headache I had for no reason I could imagine. Anyway, Hunter and I had an eating contest which I won of course. After we were done we headed back to the room while HumDog dealt with some folks irate about the way he ate and I don’t think they liked him getting a plate without supervision. I even heard one of the waiters complaining about Pedro but I just laughed because his name is Humberto. Hunter told me to please stop acting up before we kicked out, but I tried to tell him it was HumDog acting up, not me. We headed back to the room to get ready for our Sloth adventure when we realized there may be some thunderstorms. Let me say for the record “no me gusto el thunderstorm”. Anyway when we got to the tour, the guide blabbed for at least an hour before we started our 1 hour tour about not petting, touching or dating sloths. I think that’s not nice because even though Sloths are not my type, they need love too! Well the short of it was it began to rain cats and hogs and besides not being happy we only saw a sloth and two possible other sloths….I’m not convinced it wasn’t a stuffed animal in a tree, but what do I know, I’m just a dog. Anyway, HumDog and I took a goofy picture and then they fed us fruit probably to keep us from complaining! Hint to the sloth tour people….Try bribing with some SeaBass next time! End Day 3

Day 2 - After a good nights sleep we woke up and had a huge breakfast of eggs, bacon, and fresh fruit and bacon and more bacon. Our rental car from Adobe Car Rental was delivered to our hotel and we left San Jose (and yes I know the way) and headed to The Lost Iguana resort. When we got to La Fortuna we stopped off at a store that was like a mini Walmart called Maxi-Pali and loaded up on bottled water and snacks. All of a sudden HumDog starts cracking up and looks at Julie and says, this is actually a Walmart! We then drove to the Lost Iguana Resort through the mountains with people and motorcycles all around us. We checked in and enjoyed the view of Arenal Volcano from our room. It was amazing and made me and Hunter Super Hungry! We took a few pics from the balcony of our room and headed to dinner where HumDog tried to order me a piece of bland chicken breast, but Julie (the love of my life) told him to stop being cheap so she ordered me a New York Strip with all the trimmings. HumDog was not happy, but he got over it when Julie told him to stop being grumpy! We later headed to the heated pool and swim up bar where I was magically served a margarita and a mango colada! DumbDog said they were his but I ignored him since Julie said leave Bruce on Vacation alone since he is just a baby. We then went back to the room to prepare for a fun day of exploring, eating, sloth viewing and eating! End Day 2

First let me say that HumDog will pay for that post of me sleeping dearly. Secondly, I had a great nights sleep and I was ready to hit the road. I was entertained by watching the family “leisurely” packing! If you call scrambling around and hollering back and forth leisurely then that is what happened. So we headed to the airport where HumDog was yelling at me to put my head back in the car! Once at the airport I greeted my fan club with some light banter and was given some some nice jerky treats from my peeps in TSA! HumDog told me to stop acting up. Geez he is a buzzkill! Anyway I will never not acknowledge my fans! I love and appreciate them. Anyway we made it to San Jose Costa Rica and waited almost an hour to get through customs. The Costa Rican agent asked HumDog a bunch of questions and I think he was super nervous! Which he should be for being so grumpy all trip so far. Once through we tried to find some transport and I’m pretty sure HumDog got scammed because the guy in the transport kept telling us he was legit but to lie to the police if we get pulled over. Regardless we made it to the Doubletree Cariari where Julie went to bed and the boys went searching for some cocktails. After that we all headed to bed. Day 1 in the Books.

Vacation!!! It’s happening again! This time I’m writing my own accounts of vacation so you will all know the real story! So this summers trip is to Costa Rica! So excited to see the monkeys and sloths and other wildlife…except snakes and spiders. Julie says they have Viper Spiders that spit web venom and snakes that fly and frogs that can burn you with their laser eyes! Or something like that. I wasn’t really listening since HumDog (short for Humberto) was grilling some chicken fajitas, who’s as most know is my favorite! Anyway, after a long week of watching HumDog attempt to “fix” a very small section of our back fence which was destroyed by last weeks storm, I am exhausted! So I am going to bed early so I can wake up, eat some breakfast and watch my family frantically pack for the airport! See you in the morning!
