Adding a little glamour to Halloween… 🎃 SOLD

Realistic Pumpkin Stem Tutorial

Friends! time to pull out those pumpkins! Here is how to created more realistic stems with using sisal rope.

1. Cut 4 pieces of sisal. Length will depend on how large you want your stem.

2. Unwind about 1” at the end of each piece. Don’t unwind both ends.

3. Hot glue the 4 pieces, around the “stump” of your pumpkin.

4. finish unwinding 3 of the pieces of rope. BUT leave the 4th rope intact.

5. Twist and glue the 3 pieces of rope, around the intact rope, forming a stem.

6. Trim. I left a few “stragglers” just to look as though the pumpkin was just plucked from the vine.

7. Generously brush on Mod Podge

8. With Mod Podge still wet, sprinkle with ground cinnamon.

9. Set aside to dry

10. Once dry, brush on one more layer of Mod Podge.

11. Once dry, you could give your stem a quick sanding. This will bring out even more on the veining.

Voila! Transformation!
