🍁The season of Autumn is upon us and the energetic of this season is a contractive, inward movement.
💚 Our lungs and large intestine are the organs of this season; they rule (and express through) the skin and are known as the ‘metal element’.
💫 We can see this inward directed effect happening around us such as leaves on the trees turning colors and falling off the branches or grass drying up and withering away. Humans experience a similar phenomenon happening to our bodies as we feel dry and itchy in our skin, nose and eyes or maybe even a dry tickle in the throat and dry coughing.
💫 This inward movement prepares us for the cold and meditative contemplation that winter brings.
💫 This is the time to eat moistening foods. This steamed pear treat is usually made with brown sugar but here we are using honey and steaming the pears to add more moisture to the fruit that helps moisten the lungs and large intestine.
