These are bananas from our tree. It’s another three bushels under those leaves shown, so it’s about 50 bananas here. Unfortunately our tree was blown over in the storm BUT the bananas are still growing sooooo we’re going to leave the tree like this a little while longer to see what happens.

2 of the 3 pineapples from our backyard. I cut up the other one and OMG the sweetest taste!! I wanted to juice it because it was so sweet but I’ll just eat it in its natural form. Have you ever tasted a home grown pineapple?

Parenting a new young adult is an interesting experience. It’s a real grey area between 18 & 21. They think once they hit 18, they’re GROWN but really not GROWN GROWN!! They can do something’s but not legal enough to do other things yet. As parents we are trying to prevent and protect from certain experiences. But also sometimes we have to let them experience things so they will learn the lesson. It’s hard. I want to let him fly, but also monitor how high and wide (right now). Can anyone relate?

One thing I hate about high school Track (& some other sports) is the uniforms they have these girls wearing. The shorts look like underwear and the bottoms of their butts hang out. I think that is so inappropriate. Like why do you need to basically look naked to run. I spoke to the coach last year and they have a looser short option and that’s what Bailee wears (similar to what the boys wear) Initially she got upset with me but I told her it’s not cute and you’re not out here to show your butt. You’re out here to run.

Finished book #2 of 2024 - I’ve seen this movie probably 50 times. It’s my all time favorite, but I never read the book. I wished I would have read this years ago. There are SO many stories in the book that of course didn’t make it to the movie. I hated Mr._ for all of these years. But now, knowing his story and how their story ended up in the end gives me a different perspective. Who knew the real story of Shug and Celie? Whew!!! Sofia story? Did you know that “Squeak” was the one that helped Sofia get out of jail when she hit the Mayor. She was even r***d by her own Uncle helping Sofia. When I read this story, I only saw the original cast in my mind. But the original Shug cast doesn’t look anything like how the book describes her. Also they added scenes in the movie that were never in the book. Like Shug having a problem with her dad and having her keep trying to talk to him. Ok I’m rambling! I just love this movie but after reading this book, I love the entire story. Have you read this?
