What is the difference between Term and Whole Life insurance?

Whole life is guaranteed (once you're found insurable) till you reach age 100 and expires on your 101st birthday. At that time the policy will be paid in full. The exception is if the policy is cancelled and/or the premiums are not paid. They also gain cash value you can borrow against.

Term life is good for a certain amount of time. It does not incur cash value and only pays out if you pass away while the policy is valid.

This past Friday was the May-Stringer's Night of Lights. This was the first event I was tasked with planning. I blended the beautiful Victorian painted lady home with one of my favorite stories of all time "A Christmas Carol". I dressed the part. My story: The thought of sales wasn't something I was looking for as I searched for new jobs. The thought of selling things that people don't need nor enhances their life was a turn off. However I was approached to sell insurance. That made sense.

Some of my family members and friends had some serious medical issues. Some died and had no insurance, while some survived but their quality of life was never the same. The ones that died, I watched their family struggle to make ends meet, they did GoFundMe to pay for those final expenses and the struggle was real. They faced losing everything. The ones that survived were so encumbered with financial debt that most lost everything and they can't work. In the end, had they had Life Insurance or living benefit insurance these outcomes would have been significantly different. So a small investment today would have been that safety net they needed later.

Truth be told, medical conditions do not discriminate by age. Life is cruel so people of any age, even infants make sense to invest in life and major illness plans to compliment their major medical. This is why I sell insurance so I can change others situations so they never find themselves in the situation my family and friends found themselves in.

Compassion, Logic, Ethics and Truth are what drive me not the almighty dollar.

ADVICE: We make a will so when we pass away, we know who gets our property and other last wishes. Almost everyone that owns a home, includes it in their will, gifting it to someone. This protects it from being taken by the state BUT it doesn't mean the individual can afford to pay it off or secure a loan if the mortgage isn't paid off with other insurance. This is why Mortgage Insurance is so important. It allows you to pay off the mortgage with a dedicated policy that pays off the mortgage and can give you extra money for your family (If you choose) on top of any other life policies you may have.
