Attention Bulls! 🐂🐂🐂

We are so honored to have received so many great student pieces this Fall, 2022 semester.

At this time, our editors are working hard to finish completing a final draft for the printed publication of Vol. 17 (which is free to all USF students). We promise they are coming soon!

Now that finals week is near an end, we would also like to remind students that during the fall/spring interim, we will be accepting all your work for Vol. 18 for Spring semester, 2023.

The deadline to submit will be February 1st, so make sure to mark your calendars and send us your best work so we can print another awesome magazine in 2023!

Alex is a senior studying history, religious studies, and creative writing. He lives in Valrico, FL and likes the decor of Halloween much better than things that actually go bump in the night. He writes short fiction but, like most writers, still clings to dreams of publishing a novel.

USF’s Thread Magazine is releasing its long-awaited Spring 2022 issue! We are so excited to present the fantastic work from our USF peers including short stories, fiction, poetry, screenplays, photography, art, and music.

The release date of the Spring 2022 issue is May 1st! Follow our Instagram for future updates.

If you are interested in joining the Thread Magazine editing team for next Fall, we will be sharing information in the next couple weeks about how to apply for an editor position.

We hope everyone is happy to be wrapping up finals week and is ready to start celebrating a stress-free holiday season!!

To celebrate, Thread Magazine is hosting a mini Christmas creative writing competition to spread excitement for the holidays.

If you wish to participate, we are asking for either a microfiction or poetry piece that focuses on vivid Christmas memories from your childhood or even from the last couple years.

Post your Christmas-themed creative writing below, and we will post it on our story! Let’s all celebrate the holiday break together 🎄🎅☃️🎁

THIRD AND FINAL WINNER IS Alex Bordin’s microfiction piece: “Blood Boils”!!

𝙥𝙤𝙚𝙩’𝙨 𝙗𝙞𝙤:
Alex Bordin is a sophomore majoring in history and a member of the Judy Genshaft Honors College. He is also pursuing minors in religious studies and creative writing. His writing focuses on fiction, especially fantasy and mystery. Dungeons and Dragons, exploring and preserving the outdoors, and video games are among his favorite hobbies.

Hello USF students! With the Fall semester around the corner, we’d like to announce that submissions will be opening soon for Volume 16 of Thread Magazine!🎉🎉

Get your short stories, poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, photography, screenplays, comics, art, and music prepared for AUGUST 22nd! We are excited to see the creativity and artistic talent that the USF student body has to offer this year!

Don’t wait to submit! Submissions are only open for a few months, and close with the end of the fall semester.
