We are excited to welcome Coach Michael Battles to the PCA family! Coach Battles will teach and serve as our Defensive Coordinator for Varsity Football and help with Baseball.
We are excited for Coach Battles, with nearly 30 years of coaching experience across Alabama and Mississippi, to join us. Most recently, Coach Battles served 12 years as the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director at Tallassee High School. Coach Battles led Tallassee to eight state playoff appearances, was named the 2021 Elmore County Coach of the Year, and was a coach for the 2021 North/South AHSAA All-Star Game. Prior to his time at Tallassee, Coach Battles led the Bibb County football team to the 4A State Semifinals, ending his time there with an impressive 46-6 record.
When asked why he decided to join the PCA family, he stated that Prattville Christian Academy is a special place, and it would be a good time in his coaching career and an excellent opportunity for his son, Mason, to come for his senior year. Coach Battles commented on the interactions he saw between students at PCA while he was on campus, emphasizing how the students prioritize God and treat one another with kindness and respect.
"I am excited to continue in what I love doing and provide this opportunity for my son to strengthen his faith even more,” he said.
Please join us in welcoming Coach Battles, his wife Tara, and two sons, Thomas and Mason. We look forward to the impact Coach Battles will have on our school community!
