It is going to feel like Spring today across much of the state today as 70s and 80s are expected; especially along the interior regions of the Peninsula. There is also going to be a chance for strong storms along the Panhandle today ahead of a weak cold front. Main threat is strong gusty winds, tornado threat is very low. This front will not make it all the way through the state and not much "cool" relief is expected.

For tonight, temperatures will fall into the 40s and 50s along the Panhandle and Big Bend region. But 60s along Central and Southern Florida. Can't rule out some showers along the Big Bend and North Florida region tonight.

Early Spring has arrived for much of the state today! 70s are expected across the state and it will feel great today as sunny skies are expected. We will continue to see these type of temperatures for the next few days, so enjoy it! For tonight, 40s and 50s are expected across much of the state; is great campfire weather!

Warmer weather continues to make a return across the state; especially to where we were a week ago today! But, we can expect 70s across the Peninsula and 60s along Northern Florida and Panhandle regions. It will start out mostly cloudy along the Panhandle/Big Bend region this morning, but transition to mostly sunny skies. But along the Peninsula, it should be mostly sunny throughout the day today.

Overnight low temperatures are going to fall into the 50s along Central and Southern Florida, with 60s along the Keys. However, 40s are expected along Northern Florida and along the Panhandle.

After snow earlier this week, temperatures are back in the 60s and 70s across the state and any snowfall that is left will likely be melting today and tomorrow as we continue to warm up. Overnight lows will still be chilly, but will be warmer than what they have been for the past few days.

For today, mostly sunny skies are expected across the state and no hazardous weather is expected.

Chilly weather is expected tonight across the state, and including Southern Florida. I cannot rule out some falling iguanas in the morning along South Florida as temperatures get down to the 30s and 40s, with wind chills in the 30s.

Farther north you are, it is still cold and will be below freezing once again with 20s and 30s expected. Get those blankets and crank the heaters.

FINAL TRAVEL ALERT - ALL LANES of EASTBOUND and WESTBOUND Interstate 10 (I-10) are back open to traffic. With freezing temperatures still anticipated and winter weather conditions still in effect, remember to drive with extreme caution.

TRAVEL ALERT - Effective 7p.m. EST tonight (Jan 22), Interstate 10 (I-10) will be CLOSED in both directions from the Alabama/Florida State Line to Exit 192 (U.S. 90) in Gadsden County due to remaining snow, ice, and water on the roadway combined with incoming hard freeze temperatures overnight resulting in icy and dangerous conditions on bridges and roadways. Please seek alternative routes until further notice.

With conditions changing rapidly and bringing unexpected circumstances, stay put and off the roads for your safety. Remember to heed all local and state guidance.

A satellite view of the SE United States captured earlier this morning. A rare sight to see snowpack in Florida. Lots of clouds still encompassing the remainder of the Florida Peninsula, but I'm sure many in the Peninsula are fine with no snow!

Temperatures tonight are going to be dropping very quickly along the Panhandle, Big Bend, and North Florida region where temperatures in the single digits, teens, and 20s are expected. With the ongoing snow melt, this does create concerns for black ice to develop on sidewalks and roadways. If you must travel, use caution by slowing down (yes, below the speed limit) and keeping distance between you and the car in front of you.

It will also be chilly along Central and Southern Florida tonight with 30s and 40s along Central Florida; some frost may develop... Along Southern Florida, 40s and 50s are expected. Along the Keys, upper 50s to low 60s expected.

Snowfall totals continue to come in this morning and 9.8” of snow was reported in Milton, and 9.5” of snow along Molino. Everything is still preliminary but it’s safe to say the Florida record for snowfall is shattered. 💿

The snow totals keep coming in along the Panhandle and how about this! 8.8” of snow along Milton! While this is preliminary, the state record for snow sure does look to be broken based on several observations.
