I was sent video of storm surge quickly pushing in Charlotte County earlier this evening. Note this is 5x speed, but this does show you how fast surge can roll in. This was taken around 9:38pm. I was also sent additional video and the water as of 10:35pm is much higher. Video sent by Erik Rocha

Bill also tells me that all businesses, churches, personage, and 2/3 of buildings are wiped out. Debris field extends over a mile out.

8-4 Video Update #2 on Debby
Here is another video update regarding my thoughts on the latest forecast of Tropical Storm Debby. More posts/updates throughout the day
Looking at radar we can see this newer area spinning and moving toward the NW. After seeing some other posts about it, this is likely a mid-level circulation. The low-level circulation is SW of that following the current NHC path. Usually in order to see more strengthening you need to have both mid-level and low-level circulations aligned and stacked with each other. We’ll see if there is any deviation from the current track as it tries to meet with the mid-level circulation
