Come be a part of The Largest Halloween Costume Contest in Eastern North Carolina on Saturday Night, October 28th, at Carteret County Speedway. All kids in costume Five and Under will get a prize! Costume contest for kids ages 6 to 11, with bicycles as first prize! Teen Costume Contest for ages 11-15 with $200 to win! And a $1000 Grand Prize will be up for grabs in the Adult Costume Contest for participants 16 and older! This is going to be a fun event. Get season tickets or single race tickets at the track office Monday through friday.

Drivers and race fans, make sure to mark your calendars for our next race on May 20th as we will have our first ever Carteret Speedway Dash for Cash Shootout! This event will be twin 30’s for our Legends and Mini Stock classes and will pay $1000 to the fast qualifier and $1000 to the winner of each race. If a driver wins the pole award and both races, they could receive a $3000 payout!

There will be a $50 entry fee and $75 will be paid to start. If a driver or team pre-registers before this race, they will receive a front row pit stall on a first come first serve basis. John Nai, of Wake County Speedway, will be the head tech official.

We will have a Friday, May 19th practice session from 4 pm till 9 pm. There will be a $10 admission price for everyone that enters the pit gate.

The kids had lots of fun today. Santa was here, we built gingerbread houses and trains followed by candy cane hunt. Thank you to all who came out today and Swansboro recreation for holding fun community events throughout the year.

Santa’s Great Candy Cane Hunt
December 17, 1 p.m.

Santa and his elves will stop by Municipal Park and hide Candy Canes to find. Children ages 10 and under will race to find as many candy canes as they can. The children will be divided into two age groups, 5 and under and 6-10, as they race to collect the most candy canes.
