🎶 It's another big day for music adds here at The Steamboat Local's Choice for Music.! 10 new songs in total, including "Water My Flowers" from local talent Adia Clark Lay - Actress/Musician 🌸

Also two songs titled "Scars". One from Fruition, fresh off their stop at the Steamboat Free Summer Concerts. The other "Scars" comes to us from The Crane Wives, a song we talked about with the band during a recent Steamboat Sound Check podcast ahead of their show Sunday night at Strings Music Festival Steamboat Springs, CO. Another band hitting Strings next month is The National Parks, who dropped "Whatever Comes" a few days ago. We'll be releasing our Steamboat Sound Check interview with them later this week! 🎧

After hearing Bud Whitehead talk about how much he enjoyed taking locals on his Wild West Balloon Adventures during our most recent Common Folk in the Boat podcast, we asked local to recount her experience. Even for people who have lived here for decades, it brings a whole new perspective to float above the valley floor!

While we had always enjoyed seeing the hot air balloon from the valley floor, we had never actually taken flight ourselves.

Like many of us, our very own John Camponeschi is an avid rider who had used at-home techniques to adjust his bike to what he thought was the right fit... Then we sent him to talk to the experts at Ski Haus Steamboat. Like you, we were extremely bummed that Mama Magnolia's opening set at this past weekend's Steamboat Free Summer Concerts was cut short by Mother Nature! Hopefully, you had the chance to see them play later that night at the press! Before the rains came, we had the incredible opportunity to talk to Megan Letts of Mama Magnolia about her love of playing to the crowds in Steamboat, what it means to be a part of the WinterWonderGrass Festival family, and their upcoming show at Steamboat Resort on August 16th!

One week from today, racers will be scattered across the Emerald Mountain trail system as they compete in the Emerald Mountain Epic! Formerly known as the Steamboat Stinger, this is more than just another race! The EME is a true community event that has a long standing tradition of giving back to local nonprofits like Routt County Riders and Partners for Youth! Even if you're not challenging for a podium spot, just experiencing this event is rewarding... and you can still register. With new, shorter distances, it's easy to jump into a manageable race category with limited training! Read more here:
