Weather Update
1/9/2024 2:00pm

Another round of heavy rain is on the way.......But the light at the end of the tunnel can be seen back to to the west......Once this moves through our area conditions will continue to improve.....But just because it quits raining does not mean the threat is over........All that water that has fallen has to go somewhere, So it will take some time for it to recede.....Continue to monitor for flooding conditions well into the evening hours.

Numerous reports of trees have been reported down all around the county, Please give first responders time and space to do thier jobs to get the roads cleared

*** 1/8/2024 7:30pm Severe Weather Update ***

Uncertain times ahead for most of us tomorrow

Rain moves in overnight with totals approaching 3-5 inches by late evening, Coupled with the high winds expected to be sustained between 25-30 mph and gust high as 60 mph with the already saturated ground, Things could get very interesting...........This could lead to widespread power outages, Flash Flooding and downed trees making travel a nightmare.

Something else concerning that should be noted in the attached picture below is what appears to be a squall line forming after the noon hour........Anybody ahead or underneath it should be extra cautious.......This is our best best chance to see those winds really ramp up to possible 70 mph or greater and the tornado threat increase.

Not everyone is going to see or have the same impacts...........But the threat is there.......I have been preaching this all day....Do not let your guard down on this system......It might sneak up and bite you

Have a plan established now.....Make sure all these device are charged, Know where your loved ones will be located, Have multiple ways to receive warnings and only follow trusted sources.

We will be with you before, during and after the storm providing the best coverage Iredell County has to offer.

Please take this seriously and stay safe

Starting in the early morning hours of Tuesday, We will be greeted by a dynamic weather system that will bring multiple impacts to our area, Gusty winds in excess of 60 mph, Excessive rain, Flash flooding and cannot rule out the possibility of a strong to severe storm with spin up tornados.......This system is not to be taken lightly.

Some of our neighboring counties have already called off school, So take that for what it is worth and have the arrangements made
