Do I have to be on all of the platforms?
Do I have to be on every platform?
Answer… absolutely not! What you do online should be related to who you are targeting. You go where they are. If your target audience is not on a platform, then don’t do it.

If I am a retailer, do I need to sell my products on social media?
If I am a retailer, do I need to sell my products on social media?
Answer… Yes! Social commerce is expected to grow astronomically again this year. Over 50% of people buy straight from their social media feeds – I know I have! I feel we are seeing a big shift in e-commerce. Websites are still a necessity but it needs to expand over to social media. You can set up your catalog on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest so you can tag your products and people can shop right there. It’s another avenue to expand your business and your customer base.

Best Piece of Marketing Advice
After 20 years in marketing, what is one piece of advice you would give?
Answer… My biggest piece of advice is to take the risk and stick with it. Try something new – a new campaign, a new strategy, new branding. Sometimes the risk is worth the reward.

3 Elements of a Holiday Marketing Plan
It's never too early to get started! What are the top 3 elements that should be in my holiday marketing plan?
Answer… Flexibility, personalization, and meeting your customers where they are. If we’ve learned anything over the past two years, it’s that we all have to be flexible with the changes and events that are thrown at us. Because of supply chain issues this year, you may have to pivot products or find new sources. Also, customers want personalization – they want to know your care about them. The easiest way to do this is through email marketing and in-store interactions. Lastly, the past several years have changed everyone. Needs and priorities are different – you need to meet your customers where they are. That can be through your customer service, lending a hand, or just empathizing with them.

Does my business need to be on TikTok?
You ask, we answer… TikTok is everywhere. Does my business need to do this platform as well?
Answer… It depends on who your target audience is. TikTok is practically the go-to for Gen Z (think middle and high schoolers) and younger Millennials. If any of those age groups are in your target audience, then yes, you need to take a hard look at TikTok and develop a sound strategy to reach them there.

Our Favorite Marketing Programs
You ask, we answer… What are some of your favorite marketing programs to use?
Answer… First of all, we are huge advocates and supporters of Sprout Social. That is our go-to for social management and social analytics. We also use SEM Rush for SEO and competitor research, MailChimp for most email marketing (unless the client uses something else), and all things Google. We love to try out and test new programs because you never know what is on the horizon.

All About Remarketing Campaigns
You ask, we answer… Are remarketing campaigns successful?
Answer… Yes – if executed correctly. Have a remarketing list to use is your own personal goldmine. Remarketing lists are created from people who have visited your website or your customer lists. You can use these to create custom audiences in Google Ads and when advertising on the social platforms. You can also use these to create lookalike audiences that will be made up of people similar to the ones on your list. When creating remarketing ads, you want to have ad copy that re-engages that person and includes a call to action.

What about Pinterest?
You ask, we answer… What about Pinterest?
Answer… Pinterest is seeing a resurgence, especially when it comes to paid advertising. A Pinterest Business Study showed that Pinterest ads had a higher ROI and cheaper conversion rates that ads on other social platforms. With social media, it’s known now that you will have to spend money advertising to have a successful social strategy. If you are in the home, clothing or food industry, Pinterest is a must!
